Leaking
I have only been using these nipples for about a month as my baby is almost 5 weeks old and they are leaking horribly sound the the top of the bottle ring where it meets the nipple. Some are leaking worse than others, but I have around 20 of these bottles and am becoming extremely frustrated coming to the realization that I may need to replace these bottles. It’s a shame too because my baby really likes using these bottles, but the mess of the leaking is becoming too much. I would love suggestions at resolving the leaking problem before attempting to find new bottles.

I have a preemie baby who is currently 8 weeks old. (She was 3 weeks early). I haven't noticed a big difference in the nipple sizes. They have not alleviated her gas or large burps after eating; however, she has had no trouble with the Avent nipples or the different size options.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter would get upset during her bottle time, and I couldn’t figure out why. I knew she was hungry and I could see her sucking furiously on her bottle. But yet she kept crying. After doing some research on Google I learned that the size of the nipple matters. Slow flow will cause baby to be cranky and frustrated because it won’t be getting its milk fast enough. Fast flow will feel like Niagara Falls to your baby. Philips Avent bottle offers a nipple size to meet every baby’s needs. The nipples offer a natural latch that is similar to the breast that features unique comfort petals, so it is easier for baby to transfer back and forth from breast feeding to bottle feeding. The Natural nipples also feature an advanced anti-colic valve. Our daughter never had any tummy issues when using these nipples. I would highly recommend trying this brand, for the quality, and how well my daughter took to it with no more tummy issues. Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me these nipples to try and review.

Excellent Newborn Nipple
I am an exclusively pumping mother and we have only used the Avent bottles for feeding. I received this bottle nipple from the weeSpring Parent Panel. The newborn flow is perfect for baby and helps control the flow that my aggressive feeder gets which is important for helping prevent spit-ups. We had the old style natural flow nipple for the first few weeks and I noticed that she would sometimes push the nipple in with her sucking, but I haven't had this problem with these nipples and I believe spiral design does make it more flexible. She still gets gassy despite the anti-colic valve, but despite that we are happy with the nipple and plan to continue to use them.

Philips Avent Natural Newborn Nipple Review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a new parent and had been exclusively breastfeeding my 4 week old baby until I received the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Nipple (and Philips Avent bottles) through the wee Spring Parent Panel. I needed to start getting baby used to bottle feeding, as I will have to return to work in 2 months. We currently are bottle feeding pumped breastmilk about once a day.
My baby does really well with the Philips Avent Bottles. Baby immediately took to the bottle and didn’t seem to have any issues with feeding. The anti-colic vent in the nipple seems be effective, as we have not noticed any issues with gas since starting the bottle feeding. I like that the nipple is wide and more breast-shaped than some other brands, so baby has a good, natural latch while feeding. Baby isn’t having any issues doing both breastfeeding and bottlefeeding.
It is nice to have different nipple options for the feedings. So far, we have used this size (Newborn Flow - Size 1) and the First Flow nipple – size 0. Baby seems to do well with both, but I prefer to give her the size 0 right now, as she is still so little. Will definitely graduate up to this size when she is ready.
Thank you to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with these nipples!

Less Mess, Less Gas, Less Stress!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through Wee Spring's Parent Panel program.
I'm a mom of a two year old and recently gave birth to our secone. With my first, we struggled with breastfeeding and tried several bottles with her using pumped breast milk to supplement and one of those bottles was Agent. When I had my son, I was concerned about our ability to effectively breastfeed so signed up for the ability to try Avent's new Natural Nipple and bottles.
With my daughter, I very much disliked the Avent bottle. The flow was entirely too fast for her, especially in the early stages of breastfeeding and there was constantly expressed breastmilk leaking out from her mouth and the bottle. This was incredibly frustrating, as many of you pumping mommas will understand. So, I was hesitant to try this product and even less confident that it would surprise me.
But it did. The nipple flow was perfect. We used the 0 flow. My son had absolutely no issue latching on and getting all the milk he needed. And he went right back to breast with ease. I was shocked. The best part of all was that we had less and less episodes with gas. This was a huge problem for my daughter, but my son seemed to do much better with the Avent Natural bottles and their anti-colic design.
I'm excited to have a bottle set that I have absolutely no concerns using intermittently while I breastfeed. Picking the right bottle for a baby who is mostly breastfed but also needs supplementation from time to time is SO HARD. This is the right choice. You will NOT be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted my baby to like this nipple because I really love how easy the avent bottles are to clean, however she did not. My baby had a hard time keeping a good latch and when she did she was making a loud sucking noise and seemed quiet frustrated. She was very content with the 3+ size bottle so I would only recommend this nipple for babies who seem to me choke from the quicker flow of the 3+. FYI she was 3 weeks old when we tried this nipple. This would have been perfect for my older daughter when she was a newborn she struggled in this aspect. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel, I was able to try this nipple with my son for his first bottle feeding experience. We tried this newborn nipple with the Avent bottles. Cleaning and sterilizing was a breeze! My son was already 6-weeks old when we tried this product for the first time, I feel like he could have easily used the next flow size, but he took well to this one and was able to easily "latch" without issue. The nipple felt the most real of the other bottles we had on our registry. I'd definitely recommend this to someone as a starting point for bottle feeding! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a first time parent I did not know what bottle to choose and what to look for.
The weeSpring Panel provided me a bottle together with a Soothie pacifier, bottle brush and microwaveable sterilizer.
It was quite an experience trying the different nipples sizes. Our little one line the smaller one being a girl. It’s shaoe is well thought of and also the material used.
Our baby was having a hard time latching so was always hungry and fussy. This bottle helped us to supplement formula but also helped in improving latching - something which I was not expecting since pacifiers are not recommended for breastfeeding babies.
I am glad I got to try this product and was pleasantly surprised that it improved latching. Definitely a must have for parents.

Great product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a first time mom and have always been planning on breastfeeding my little one. I thought that I would not need a bottle but time proved me wrong.
I received a bottle as part of the weeSpring Panel together with a Soothie pacifier, bottle brush and microwaveable sterilizer.
I must say they were a nice surprise that arrived at the perfect time.
I realized that I needed all of the products mentioned above to give my little one the extra milk that I had. The bottle does not leak the precious milk and baby liked its shape and feel. Both bottle and pacifier did not effect the latching. I was afraid baby would find it hard to latch after using them but their unique design made latching even better. There is great airflow in the bottle, simple parts and easy to clean (brush came in handy here). It was great to have different sized nipples. I preferred the size one since it has low flow but not too little.
The sterilizer gave me peace of mind as I knew the bottle was well sterilized after each sterilization session. I’m very careful about cleanliness and avoiding germs and what not so this made my life easier. Very convenient, easy to use and time saving. (Huge plus for busy moms). The only negative things was deciding where to store to have it handy.
I would definitely recommend these products to every parent out there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I breastfeed my 3 week old baby but also pump for the occasional bottle right now and will use more bottles once I return to work. For now, I wanted to introduce a bottle to get her used to it before waiting too long. These nipples are great for newborn stomachs since they only hold a small amount of milk. The size 1 nipple works great. She took to it right away and didn’t seem to have any trouble with the flow rate or gas. I burped her after but didn’t hear any audible burps so I hope the bottle and nipple design had something to do with that. I like the variety of nipple choices Avent offers as my baby gets older. The quality of all the parts was nice and solid. No cheap plastic feeling parts. These were a great way to introduce bottle feeding for us. I was so excited to receive the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Nipple to trial from the weeSpring Parent Panel! Though I exclusively breastfeed, I'm getting ready to send my baby to the babysitter soon, and starting to slowly introduce bottles. Having received this to trial in exchange for a review, I tried out the Philips Avent line with the Natural Newborn nipple, and my baby liked it. I'm not sure if the design is really unique, but it worked for us. I do like that it's wide-necked, to help simulate eating from the breast, and ease transition back and forth. I didn't notice any significant concerns with gas or colic while using this, but my baby isn't particularly fussy.
I would recommend including this in the arsenal of choices if your baby is particular about nipples/bottles.

Good for a newborn drinking normal formula
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We adopted our baby girl, and while we would have loved to breastfeed or be part of a milk sharing program...it just wasn't practical. So she has been formula-fed since birth. Because of bad reflux to the point of developing Sandifer's Syndrome (a scary, seizure-like response to reflux), we have had to alter our feeding habits to smaller amounts more frequently. As a result, we go through a LOT of bottles each day. We really like the Phillips Avent bottles and nipples. Our daughter has taken to them very well, and while we can't tell if they minimize the reflux, they certainly don't make it any worse. Unfortunately, because we've recently had to switch our formula to one thickened with rice starch (Enfamil A.R.), we can no longer use the newborn/size 1 nipples - they are too small/slow-flow for her to get anything out. We have to use size 2+ nipples.

I think as a new mom this design makes way more sense once you get latching down. It helps your baby keep their mouth open to the right size and to mimic the same movements they would at the breast.
Of course as a new mom you hear about nipple confusion so anything designed to be similar to Mom parts is a bonus. It was fairly easy for my daughter to take this bottle. Her mouth seemed to open more to latch position more than with other bottles. She didn't take in any excess air either! Her mouth seemed sealed around the base the entire feeding. I think the extended part of the nipple could be shorter actually and then it would really be similar.
Since my daughter is a newborn, the slower flow nipples were the best option for her. She didn't seem to guzzle the milk down or have to work too hard to get milk. To be honest I haven't noticed if she was more or less colicky since we've been pretty lucky with that so far!
I would recommend this nipple and brand as soon as the baby comes home or when bottles are incorporated. I think it would be a significant change from an other brand to these latch-like nipples after. Every baby is different but, my baby took to these nipples with ease.

Fast flow for my 4-week old
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Avent Natural Newborn Nipple seems to be an easy to use, high quality product, but the rate of flow is too fast for my baby. I didn’t know anything about different size nipples or flow rates until trying to pump and bottle feed my baby for the first time over the past couple of weeks, but I have found that all newborn or 0+ month size nipples still have too fast of a flow for my 4 week old, who had been exclusively breastfeed until just recently. Because of this, I couldn’t tell if this nipple is able to relieve her of gas. My baby cries during bottle feeding anyway since she’s just getting used to it, and the fast flow causes her to cough and turn away from the nipple. I use nipple shields while breastfeeding, so that likely reduces the amount of milk she is used to taking in even more. If Philips Avent made this nipple in a preemie size, it would likely work better for my baby’s needs at this point in time, and I would love to try it!
Despite these concerns, it is very helpful to have a variety of nipple choices available, especially for first time moms like myself. I think that many other first time moms, like me, are unaware of all of the differences in the nipples that are on the market and the impact that they can make on successfully establishing bottle feeding for a newborn. Even though there are reviews of lots of baby products on websites and blogs, information on choosing the most appropriate nipple seems to be overlooked most of the time. I will look forward to trying the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Nipple again in a few weeks when my baby might be better able to handle the flow.
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this nipple to try and review.

Love the nipples
I chose to bottle feed and breastfeed my daughter. I wanted my husband to have the same bonding experience I get from breastfeeding. I really like that I was able to get more than one kind/size of nipple for the Philips Avent bottles. When my daughter got a little older the size 0 nipples that came with her bottles were too slow and we needed to change the nipples to the next size up. My daughter preferred the flow rate of the size 0+ nipple to the size 0 after the first week of life. The anti-colic vent in the nipples meant my daughter was less gassy than you typically see in bottle fed babies. My daughter took the nipple the first time we offered it. She did not take any other nipple/bottle we tried prior to the Philips Avent Natural nipples. We have really enjoyed using these nipples when feeding our daughter. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this gift set.

Babies love this nipple
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this to review for the weeSpring Parent Panel. As an exclusively pumping momma, I was very keen on getting a few different brands of nipples to introduce to my babies just in case they have a hard time with one or another. Both of my newborns took to the Philips newborn nipple right away without issue. As they never had issue with gas or developed colic, it's hard to say if the nipples prevented it or helped it go away... Either way, I don't plan on finding out. It is important to start out with the newborn nipple and progress with higher flow rates. This helps newborns learn to suck better and to not over feed or feed to fast which could cause them to throw up/spit up more. I liked that the nipple flow rate is clearly marked on the nipple so you don't get confused when switching them out.

Love These Nipples. Solved Our Problems Instantly.
I'm a new mom -- my first was born just 3 weeks ago. I'm breastfeeding, but also pump so that my husband can help with some of the feeding (and give me the ability to leave the house occasionally in these first few weeks).
Our little one was struggling to eat (both bottle and breastfeeding) without 50% of the milk leaking out the side, significant spit up and hiccups later or gagging. The slow flow was incredibly helpful in slowing down the flow for our little one. Since using these nipples, we no longer "lose" milk out of his mouth and no longer have spit up -- which means we have a happier, fuller and less fussy baby! Yes!!!
I also liked this set because it gave us nipple variety, so we can chose the right options for feeding our LO. We had no issue switching from what we were using before to these.
Note: I received this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel, however the opinions are all my own.

Successful bottle feeding!
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel, my baby and I were given and able to try the Philips Avent Natural Newborn Nipple. As a mom hoping to exclusively breastfeed for the time being but aware that I needed to introduce a bottle at the right time (not to soon, not too late), I was anxious about doing so the first time. Fortunately, my baby took to the nipple immediately (and doesn't seem to have strong preferences regarding style and flow rate or issues with colic and gas), but I was relieved to have the newborn size as I want to ensure my baby can continue to both breast and bottle feed.

Perfect for preventing nipple confusion
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] FTM here and I'm currently in law school, so classes started when my son was 4 weeks old, so needless to say I was so worried about him accepting a bottle and being able to come back to the breast when I was back home. I had to start introducing the bottle at around 3 weeks so he had a week to make sure he'd take a bottle consistently. I did so much research and the answer "try a million different bottles and see what he likes" just didn't seem like a good answer to me but I understand why that is the answer we are given. Anyways, I had no idea where I wanted to start and these nipples and bottles ended up being a god send.
From day 1 my little man took the bottle from his dad on the first try with ZERO issues and 3 hours later was back on the breast with no problem. I definitely cried the first time he took the bottle but I am so glad he took the bottle so easily and still came back to momma and I think these nipples were a big reason why. They are wide and soft so I think they mimic the breast well. They also have air venting to help prevent comic and my little man has not had any gas issues so it works well for us.
I will say I think the flow is a bit fast for these. I’ve also used the slow flow for newborns (size 0) and even that is a bit fast but like I said we’ve had no issues going back and forth from Brest to bottle so maybe I just don’t know what the flow should look like.
Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this item.

A Must for New Babies!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been breastfeeding and am about to return to work full time, which means my little one will be headed to daycare. Introducing a bottle is a bit nerve wracking for breastfeeding moms, will they take to it and will it cause nipple confusion are two issues that come up.
Thankfully there are so many different options out there for moms to try. This nipple worked wonderfully. The wide base made it great for latching. I am not sure if it helped to relieve gas, but I can definitely say it didn’t cause any. My son did not have any extra air trapped after and it worked well.
The flow was perfect for us as well. The little one has reflux and didn’t make it worse (which is awesome and very important!). I will definitely be getting these in the different flow rates for as he gets older.
The last important feature to me is how does it clean. The size of these make them so much easier to handle and clean in comparison to other nipples.
If you’re debating whether or not you should try these, I can say with confidence that you should!
weeSpring Product Panel provided me with these to try and review, but all opinions are 100% my own. Thank you weeSpring!

Hello! No, your little one cannot control the flow of the Philips Avent Natural Nipple. However, in the new Natural Response Nipple, milk only flows when your baby actively drinks, which means they’re always in control of the flow and can feed and pause comfortably.
