Comfortable Nipple Shields
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Phillips Avent Nipple Shields as part of the Stellar Panel Testing Panel. I used nipple shields from a different brand when nursing my first son. They were provided to me by the hospital when we were having latch issues at birth. I prefer these from Phillips Avent. The shape is more comfortable and my daughter immediately latches on. The brand I used with my son must have been too big because milk was always leaking out of the shield. However, with these I have not had that problem. It has been helpful to use the nipple shield when my daughter is being fussy and unable to latch on to breastfeed. I've recommended nipple shields to friends who are having latch issues but want to breastfeed - now I have a specific one I can recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am giving these nipple shields an average rating of 3 because I felt like they worked ok once I got them on and then was able to get the baby to latch. It was tough to get her to latch for a couple of reasons: I think the shields made the nipple larger than she was used to and fitting everything in her mouth was more difficult at first. I think she also had trouble getting milk to release due to the "new size." It took a couple of tries but we eventually got the hang of it and it helped ease some pain on my end. I don't know that I would use these during EVERY feeding session, but when I'm a little more sore or she continues to get bigger and can suck harder, I will use them more often.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a second time mom to a 20-week-old babe. I received these nipple shields as a member of the Stellar product testing panel. Overall, I was pleased by their performance. I do think my nipples might require a larger size, but they did work for me and my babe. They certainly helped my baby to latch easily and she was able to nurse a bit longer that she typically does … like 15 min instead of 10. I found them to be mostly comfortable but like mentioned I think if I were going to use them long term I’d need a different size, I have quite long nipples. I did like the carrying case feature and the fact that the nipples could be cleaned in it in the microwave. The issue for me is when I’m nursing in the middle of the night, I don’t want to run downstairs to clean in the microwave so its ready for the first feed of the morning. If I was going to use long term, I think I would need another set to make it easier to always have one clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the arrival of my 4th child, I thought I had everything nailed down. I'd been through it all from preemies to colicky babies to twins. However, nursing did not come easily to this baby and my nipples were bruised, cracked and bleeding when she was just 3 days old. I was reluctant to try nipple shields as I'd heard that they can be hard for the baby to adapt to, and hard to return to nursing after the shields. However, I received the Avent nipple shields as part of the Stellar Product Testing panel, and was pleasantly surprised by how effective and helpful they were. They are very thin and flexible, however nursing because so much less painful after using them. My baby didn't seem to notice a difference at all, and it allowed me a bit of time to let my nipples heal before going back to regular feeding. While I only nurse at home these days, I did like the travel case, which would be easy to throw in my purse and go. I recommend the Avent nipple shields to any new mom who is needs a bit of extra help while nursing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this package of nipple shields to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I had tried a few other brands and these BY FAR have better instructions. The issue though was that they still pop off with way too little effort by my little one. Looking at the package, I wonder if they come in sizes and I never noticed. Certainly, if this package was too big for me that might explain it. I like the design (two "wings" rather than cutout for the baby's nose) much better and, of the ones I've tried and opted to trash, this was the most usable. I think I'd recommend this product more than the others, with the added note that even with better directions, it still wasn't much help.

Nipple shields
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I had my baby 8 weeks ago and Stellar parent panel sent me these nipple shields for free to try out, review and keep for free. It was perfect timing really bc my nipples were pretty sensitive. I've used other shields before in other pregnancies and wasn't a fan. But these were pretty good. The material they're made of is thin and soft. They easily stay on my breast which was an issue with others I had tried. My daughter has had no issues latching while I'm wearing them. They helped let my nipples heal. I love the carrying case they come in. It makes it easy to keep them clean and sanitized.

Better than most!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, my wife is breastfeeding our 4th child who just hit 2 months!!
Early on, our baby girl’s latch was very strong, so my wife needed nipple shields. Luckily, we were chosen by Stellar Product Testing Panel to try out nipple shields. My wife already was not a big fan of the ones she was using, so we thought she could give these a try. And they were great! They were a perfect fit and did not need to be held on to stay - that’s a huge plus when you are positioning a baby to breastfeed and don’t have a third hand to hold the shield in place. The next noticeable thing was that it was also quite soft, much more like a nipple. One of our concerns had always been that nipple shields were too hard and “felt” like a barrier between Mama and baby. Well, these seemed so natural that Mama could barely feel the shield!
So, all in all, this nipple shield stood out among the rest and very natural.

So easy to clean!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These nipple shields from Philips Avent are so easy to clean. The storage case (which is an amazing feature in and of itself), doubles as a cleaning/sanitizing case. You just add water and pop it in the microwave and they steam clean themselves. So easy!
I tried these with my son, who is 6-months old, and he latched fairly easily with them. They were however uncomfortable for me because I did not get the right size. They were a little too small and so were uncomfortable for me personally. I would think in the right size that they would be much better. The butterfly design is nice and allows for more skin-to-skin contact, which is great for both mama and baby. Overall, I think this is a really nice product, I would try them again in a bigger size! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me these nipple shields to try out!

Convenient and Comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given the Philips Avent Nipple Shields to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
My son is four months old and has never had the best latch. Breastfeeding has been uncomfortable and extremely painful at times and resulted in cracked, sore, bleeding nipples.
The Philips Avent Nipple Shield has made breastfeeding much more comfortable! I love that his nipple shield is thin and flexible making it easy to sit flush with the skin, but sturdy enough to not collapse when my baby is feeding. My son is able to easily latch on to the nipple shield and still have an effective suck.
Convenience is very important to me, and the carrying case that is provided makes it so easy to take the nipple shield on the go. I also love that the nipple shield can be sanitized in the carrying case in microwave after initially boiling them in water.
My only complaint is that the fill line for sanitizing in the carrying case is a little difficult to read, but it definitely isn't a deal breaker.
The Phillips Avent nipple shield has given me the ability to continue to breastfeed my baby when I would have otherwise given up due to the pain because of his poor latch.
I would definitely recommend the Phillips Avent nipple shields to breastfeeding mothers! Thanks again to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me these nipple shields to try!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been breastfeeding for about 6 months and have struggled on and off with my baby's latch. My let down is not fast enough compared to a bottle so he can be a bit aggressive on the nipple. Over time, this has caused some significant nipple soreness to the point my toes curl! I have always wanted to try a nipple shield to see if this will help my nipples heal and hope that maybe he will enjoy breastfeeding again. After trying the Avent nipple shields we didn't have much success. I found them to rub against my nipple causing even more pain/discomfort. We haven't given up yet and will continue to incorporate these nipple shields into our breastfeeding sessions and hope that the discomfort will lessen over time. I do love the carrying/sanitizing case, I have used this in the microwave and it works great! Saves so much time compared to watching it boil in a pot.

Solid choice for nipple shield
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a part of Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I have used nipple shields with each of my babies, now three, so have a fair amount of comfort using the product.
These shields came in an easy to open package with a container that holds both shields. The container is clear, portable and cleans very easily.
The shields themselves were fairly typically shaped allowing for some skin-to-skin contact while nursing. The material was a good thickness, so my 4 month old was not able to collapse while nursing. The shield was very comfortable to wear and there was no leakage while repositioning.
In all, this was a great product. I like that two came in the package and that they had a carry case. My only concern was that my baby did not want to latch for very long, so I wondered if the material had a distinct taste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These nipple shields helped my breast from being irritated. I have very sensitive nipples and these made it comfortable to feed my son. He was able to latch on easily. First couple of times he was not used to it, but now he is used to it. They are very easy to clean. I love that I can carry them with me anywhere with the case. I take them to work to use with my pumping machine and it also helps with the soreness from pumping
I received this nipple shields from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received these nipple shields as a part of the Stellar product testing panel and they were excellent. These nipple shields were really comfortable and helped me to nurse my baby longer. Sometimes the baby can get lazy with his latch and these helped him to correct his latch and make breastfeeding more comfortable. I would definitely recommend these to any nursing mother.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this sterilizer. I have been using nipple guards for the duration of my breastfeeding journey (6 months) due to poor latch and difficulty training my daughter to latch appropriately. These nipple guards helped her latch easily and had a faster flow than others I have used which she seemed to enjoy. The elongated design (as opposed to others with circular designs) was much easier to apply and decreased my worries about her having the plastic obstructing her nose and ability to breath. However this trade off does result in easier leakage of milk onto your chest that may have accumulated in the nipple guard. Overall these were great guards and do the job appropriately but are slightly more difficult to keep in place and avoid leaks.

Worth trying to protect sensitive areas
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this nipple shields. I tried them with my 2 month old baby boy to see if they would help with some sensitivity in that area! While I found them easy to use and comfortable, I did encounter some resistance from my little one. Rather than fighting him on the latching/feeding process, I went back to my normal method of feeding sans-shields. However, for any mamas out there whose baby is less picky, I think these would be a good option for extra protection!

Might not work for everyone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used nipple shields in the beginning of my nursing experience with both of my children. They are a good way of protecting the nipple during breastfeeding when it is sore and cracked. I have a 3 week old and we've tried to use these nipple shields several times. The shape/design of them are the best feature. There are two "wings" that adhere it to the breast verses some brands that go all the way around the breast. I like the two wings design much better because you can line up the wings (depending on how you hold your baby to nurse - ie football, cradle, etc.) so that they are touching the baby's cheeks as opposed to their nose and chin. I think the design allows for the baby to nurse more naturally, having direct contact to the breast to pull in more breast from the bottom. Plus, their nose doesn't have to be in contact with the rubber part of the shield, allowing better breathing.
The nipple shield stayed on well during the nursing attempts despite having less surface area to adhere to the breast than other brands. However, the depth of the nipple and the width of the nipple portion of the shield did not work for me and my newborn. It fit my nipple well, but I found the depth and width to be too much for my newborn. Every attempt at using the shield resulted in him pulling off and gagging.
That being said, it just didn't work for us. I'm sure these shields will work great for other moms and babies. It may even work better down the road, when my newborn is bigger, but I'll likely not need it to protect my nipples by then.
Another positive about these shields is the carrying case that can also be used to sterilize the shields. I found that to be another advantage over other brands. Based on those two advantages, I would recommend these over other brands to moms looking to try nipple shields.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this nipple shields.
