It has a good suction power. The parts are easy to clean and assemble. The motor is not very noisy but at night, it can still be pretty loud. It is great that you can choose the desired level of suction power. On the other hand, I still have to lean forward when pumping, otherwise the milk is leaking or been collected on the silicone cushion. Also, the pump is not very much compatible with the glass Avent bottles as again, they leak when you slide the bottle even a little bit. In 2 months, the pump stopped working 5-6 times in the middle of pumping. It started to work again when I plugged it out and in. I've used many pumps in the past, as this is our 6th kiddo. I love how small this pump is. It's so easy to toss all the components into the diaper bag and be ready to go. It's convenient because I don't need a separate bag just for breast pump and parts. It is pretty quiet, but I use my breast pump at the highest and fastest section most times so to me it didn't seem any more quiet than the pumps that I have previously used. One major drawback is the charging port for this pump, many phones and tablets have switched over to a universal charging port but this pump takes a specific cord. Not a deal-breaker but definitely a little bit frustrating as it would be so much more simple to have a universal charging port. I've only used double breast pumps up until this point so I don't know if my experience with the single breast pump is because I'm just not used to pumping one breast at a time. I tried to use the pump a few different times and I was not able to get any milk out of my breast. I even hooked up a pump that I had received from my insurance company and I was able to get milk out, and then switched over and tried the single pump again and I was not able to get any more than a couple drops. I took the components apart and made sure that everything was properly put together and it was. My guess is that some women just don't respond very well to a single pump. I'm also a breastfeeding mom that feeds from both breasts each time baby nurses, so the option of pumping on one side while baby nurses from the other does not work for us. It would also take up too much time for me to pump on one side and then switch over and pump from the other side when I could just use a double pump and save myself a headache. The Philips Avent Single Electric Breast Pump Advanced, With Natural Motion Technology has surprised me. It&rsquo;s SUPER light weight but still has enough output to keep up with some of my double pumps. I was able to increase my supply slightly just by adding a pump session while nursing the other side. That being said, I wouldn&rsquo;t necessarily recommend this single pump over a double if you are strictly pumping. The size is compact enough where it can sit on my couch end table and barely be noticed. Since it is light and small I can literally pack it up in a small tote and take it where I need to. Only thing is that there is no battery. You will be tethered to a wall socket. There are a number of parts for the pump attachment but all in all it doesn&rsquo;t seem like much since it&rsquo;s only one set. If that makes sense. It is a &ldquo;closed system&rdquo; where the milk cannot go up the tubes so the extra parts are definitely worth it. The greatest part is the adaptable silicone cushion. I was able to pump easily with no pinching or repositioning and comfortably even on the highest setting. I&rsquo;m hoping that this becomes the new normal. It&rsquo;s a game changer. The silicone tubing is a great change as well. I&rsquo;m not worried about creasing, twisting or tearing as much. This was a nice &quot;hack&quot; to be able to pump both sides at once, though I'm sure it wasn't quite as effective as just doing one side at a time with the flange it comes with. It would be a great pump for mommas who like to pump on one side while nursing on the other! If I tuck in into or under something, it's hardly noticeable. And they put soft rubber strips on the bottom, so it doesn't vibrate against the table or whatever surface you have it on. Smart! It feels sturdier than other pumps where the flanges just push on. With this one there is no chance of the flange unexpectedly falling off and dropping tha bottle full of milk.. It helped shorten my pumping time and I was still able to empty both breasts. It's small and able to be taken anywhere on the go! It is a plug in but it's worth it for at home pumping and on the go because it's so compact. The bottle only holds 4oz but that wasn't a problem since I was able to dump it into a breastmilk bag if needed. The different settings and modes were super nice! It has a ton of different modes and you're able to choose which is the right fit for you. The cushions could of been more adaptable to fit my breasts but after trying it for a few days I had some extra cheap cushions laying around and I used those in it as well and it helped a lot. The Phillips Avent single electric pump arrived just before I was going on vacation and it couldn&rsquo;t have been better timing. The compact and lightweight design made it so easy to carry with my while traveling and keep in my bag throughout the day. I love the design and feel of the silicone cushion while pumping and I feel that this pump is much more efficient while pumping than other brands I&rsquo;ve used for my first two babies. Any saved time while pumping is a huge advantage in my opinion! The pieces are also very easy to clean - which is another big time saver when you&rsquo;re pumping everyday. I have used much bigger pumps with my past children, and it&rsquo;s always been a struggle to pack for travel. This pump is easily slipped into a purse or suitcase for traveling! I have pumped in the car, on a plane and in the bathroom at a restaurant with this Phillips Advent Pump. I just love the silicone cushions for the breast shield part- I had no idea a breast pump could be so comfortable! It beats a hard plastic shield any day. It was a bit tricky at first to find my sweet spot for getting the best let down and milk expressed but once I got it going it did a great job of draining my breasts. I can&rsquo;t say I expressed more milk vs my older breast pumps as I feel that with each baby depending on diet and water intake it could vary, however this did a great job of getting what I needed out and I didn&rsquo;t have any clogged ducts! Do you need a pump to take on quick trips or to work that is discreet? Then this is a perfect fit. I'm in love with this pump. With my last 2 pregnancies I got free pumps through my insurance, and while they are great they can be quite bulky and have lots of parts to assemble and clean with every use. That's fine for at home, but working in the office taking all that time really cuts into my allotted breaks. With the PPhilips Avent Single Electric Breast Pump Advanced, With Natural Motion Technology, I was able to cut down a lot of that time. It's sleek and compact and fits right into my purse so I don't have to haul around a large bag just for my pump. It's incredibly easy to assemble and go. I have a separate bag that I carry all my pump supplies in (bottles, milk storage bags, etc) and this takes up so little space it's amazing. Sometimes I forget to move the pump from my purse to the pumping bag and it's discreet enough that I can easily move it without anyone knowing what it is. Because of it's size it also takes up very little space and allows for a more comfortable pumping session. Without a clunky pump I can now bring books and snacks into my pumping breaks to help pass the time. This is also great for short trips or family visits. Before I didn't mess with bringing my other pumps because they were just not very travel friendly. But now if we are going to be doing a family event like birthday or holiday I just slip this into my purse and I'm able to discreetly leave the room, pump, and come right back without much fuss. So does this small pump stand up to my full size pump? Absolutely. In fact I think the suction is slightly stronger than my normal pump. I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly and efficiently the pump was able to empty my breasts. Smaller in this case definitely does not mean weaker. Because it is a single pump it's also very easy to use while I'm nursing babe on the other breast. The bottle is also compact so it doesn't bother babe at all. Being single sided doesn't make it take any longer to pump either. Because the suction is so strong it has actually cut down on pumping time for me. This would be a great starter pump for new moms that may be intimidated by all the choices out there. It's super simple to use. Just power on and go. It does remember the last setting that was used before being turned off and will pick up there, but it's very easy to toggle. There is a button to switch between letdown and nursing mode to initiate more letdowns if needed. And suction control is as easy as pressing the up or down buttons. Nothing complicated about it. Let's talk about the cushioned flange. Oh my gosh. I have used many different pumps before, lots of different flanges. They were all so rigid and so uncomfortable and I just resigned myself to being uncomfortable when pumping. But then Phillips Avent comes along and blows that idea out of the water. It's so comfortable that I won't settle for less now. Seriously, it felt more like a gentle hand was helping me express instead of a hard piece of plastic cutting into me. That also helped me to relax during pumping sessions and express more milk. Just overall this pump is fantastic. It would be great for any woman whether it's for traveling, in the office, or just home use. I would highly recommend it to moms who are just starting out or moms that have been pumping already. It's hard to pick just one thing that I like most, but I would definitely have to go with portability here. Hauling around big pumps with lots of parts is a hassle and time consuming. It arrived well packaged and was sealed with a sanitary tape/sticker. There were not too many parts to wash and sanitize, so that was a plus! The initial hook up was pretty simple also; you plug the pump in, connect the tubing, and attach the flange. You will be amazed by how compact the entire setup is. It is the perfect size for mom&rsquo;s on the go as it can be tucked away compactly in a diaper bag instead of adding another bulky bag to your cargo. And all the pieces that come into contact with the milk are BPA free! This pump features Natural Motion Technology which is said to express more milk in less time. Personally, I found that I got about the same output from this pump as I do on other ones in roughly the same amount of time. The only difference is the level of comfort I experienced. This pump comes with a silicone cushion flange that conformed perfectly to my breast. I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and gentle it felt. I did not have any discomfort even on higher settings. It is the best part of the whole setup and a serious game changer. In my opinion this pump does the job but overall is just okay. This is my second time around pumping bottles a couple times a day for baby #2. Although I have the ability to directly breastfeed I dominantly pump to bottles first. The fact that this only comes with a single breast pump does elongate my pumping sessions. I wish there were two pumps or an option to use only one at a time if needed (aka on the days where I am breastfeeding instead). The pump is quieter than most and comfortable to wear. The closed system is a huge plus as I&rsquo;ve owned pumps previously that did not have this and it was constantly a mess. Setup and cleanup is not too complicated especially because of my current use of Advent bottles. Another feature that all pumping mamas can appreciate is having multiple settings for expression as well as a design aimed at not having to lean forward. I personally would like to see the pump come with more than one cushion size and to have a better suction. Also, I think having the ability to pump wirelessly (not connected to a wall) would be amazing.
