My newborn has struggled for weeks to keep a pacifier in his mouth, preventing him from being able to sleep soundly. Since introducing the Philips Avent Soothie Snuggle Pacifier holder with Detachable Pacifier, we are no longer experiencing interrupted sleep. The weight of the snuggle buddy (in our case, an adorable sloth) is just enough to secure the pacifier in place inside his mouth without falling out. In addition, the sloth is extremely soft and serves as a sense of comfort for my newborn. While this pacifier is the exact pacifier he has been using since birth, I find it extremely convenient that you are able to attach any pacifier to the snuggle buddy. He can easily grip the sloth between his hands while sucking on the pacifier. Cleaning is simple as you can detach the pacifier and wash the snuggle buddy. With a newborn I have been through a dozen pacifiers trying to figure out which one would work. So far we have a winner. The super soft sloth has added that extra sensory touch that my son just loves. They come apart very easily and allow me to wash the sloth separate from the pacifier. The snuggle stuffed animal is perfect for holding the pacifier where it needs to be. I have not used it on other pacifiers since this brand seems to be my babies favorite, even before I got this pacifier to review, but I think having the option is great for moms. I LOVE having the option of detaching the stuffed animal for cleaning/sterilizing purposes and for switching to another pacifier as my baby grows. It is very secure and can't easily be pulled off the pacifier but yet is easy to detach when needed. There is an extra strap that can easily velcro onto something so you don't loose it. I don't really have any cons to this product, this product has a great design that is simple and useful! I love the design of the pacifier. First, the sloth is adorable and I love that you can purchase other animals. Second, pacifiers have a mysterious way of disappearing all over your house &ndash; couch cushions, under the bed, in your fridge (if you&rsquo;re sleep deprived). The snuggle buddy makes it much more difficult to lose. I&rsquo;ve had other pacifiers that don&rsquo;t detach from the snuggle buddy and I hate that you can&rsquo;t sterilize them. This pacifier is easy to detach and clean. I like that you can purchase back-up or larger Soothie pacifiers and still use the same snuggle buddy. Children get attached to stuffed animals and somehow they know when you&rsquo;ve replaced one, even if it&rsquo;s the exact same thing but new. The only drawback for me is that babies are finnicky. One day, they love something, and the next they don&rsquo;t. The week I received the Soothie, my 10-week old decided he didn&rsquo;t want to use pacifiers anymore. I think he realized milk doesn&rsquo;t come out of them and doesn&rsquo;t see the point. He would keep it in his mouth if I held it there, but would spit it out otherwise. I wanted him to love it because it is so much cuter than other pacifiers, but what can you do? The Soothie Snuggle is great because it sits with our son and comforts him while accomplishing the basic needs of what you want a pacifier for. The soft and weighted sloth helps our son locate the pacifier and if it falls out of his mouth it is easy to find. The parts are detachable so if there is spit up or any other liquid/food that finds it&rsquo;s way onto the sloth you can easily wash it. The pacifier detaches easily so you can throw it under running water or into the dishwasher with ease. There&rsquo;s also a Velcro loop on the side&hellip;I don&rsquo;t *technically* know what it&rsquo;s for, but I think it would work to attach other pacis of different styles. I've tried the non-detachable kind previously, and while I loved the fact that it had a cute little plushie for my baby to grab onto, the fact that it was non-detachable was a dealbreaker in terms of keeping it clean and in terms of baby pacifier preferences. Luckily, Philips came through with this new, detachable version! I love that I can separate the Soothie from the plushie in order to wash each separately. Washing the snuggle buddy is a breeze- just toss it in the washing machine and air-dry. Additionally, the cute little sloth comes with a strap on its hand so that you can attach your little one's favorite brand of pacifier, even if it doesn't fit on the silicone holder that's attached to the sloth's mouth. This versatility really makes the product something that I'm much more likely to use, given that babies are very particular about their favorite pacifiers. Unfortunately, my baby is not a fan of the Soothie pacifier's shape, but I do like the fact that it's a single piece silicone design. My little guy loves to grab onto the sloth while he sucks on the pacifier, and it does seem to help the pacifier stay in his mouth longer. While the lovey's legs are weighted, I wish that they were a little heavier to give the lovey more inertia, because sometimes my baby gets a little overzealous flailing around with his lovey and tosses it across the room. Overall though, this is a great product and a huge step up from the non-detachable lovey/pacifier combos out there, and since the pacifier is detachable, I can totally see my little guy loving on this cute sloth long after he's outgrown pacifiers! My 3-month-old loved it. The pacifier portion was the perfect size for her. It was small enough that it didn&rsquo;t take up her entire mouth and I was big enough to stimulate her mouth to let her know that it was there and to suckle. Compared to others that I have tried, this one worked better. It did not cause her gag reflex to be activated. This pacifier is not a bulb, it has cavern that I could insert my finger into help her keep it in her mouth and could rub the top of her mouth with it. The fact that it came with a stuffed animal attached to it was a major plus, it was more than just a pacifier it was a toy for her to play with. The fact that the stuffed animal could be detached made cleaning super easy. I could just toss the pacifier in the sink and clean it with all the other baby items and could then put the animal in the laundry. Another plus to being able to be detached is that I can get multiple pacifiers and while out and about if it fell on the ground and got dirty, I could just swap it out with a fresh one. When I heard about these pacifiers, I was so excited. I had seen pacifiers with animals attached before, but never ones that had detachable animals. Truthfully, that was the biggest selling point for me. The sloth that came attached to this pacifier is so cute, and it&rsquo;s easy for my baby to hold onto - even at only 3 months. Full disclosure, my baby isn&rsquo;t picky about pacifiers, but the shape of the nipple of this pacifier is functional, and my baby seemed to like it very well! The best part of this pacifier is that the animal is detachable, making both parts easy to clean. My baby is not particularly attached to any stuffed animals yet, but it&rsquo;s so nice to be able to attach different pacifiers as he grows.
