The seat seems to be a sturdy and safe car seat, and the fact that it can be used from rear facing through backless booster is a great feature. The installation process was simple enough and the seat sits snug in my SUV. We are currently in the front facing 5 point harness stage, and we find it easy to tighten the chest straps, which is an improvement over our old car seat. The magnetic chest clip is a nice feature and easy to use once you've done it a few times. It's also a simple process to convert to a backless booster, but I discovered this because taking it apart is the only way to move the buckle forward. My child finds the seat comfortable to sit in, although at this point we haven't been on any trips over an hour. The seat does seem to be a bit slimmer than our old seat due to placement of the cupholders; however, the location of the cupholders also limits leg mobility and makes it difficult for my child to climb in and out of the car. Other cons are narrow cupholders (my child's sports bottle does not fit in them as it did in our old seat), overly bulky shoulder cushions (I was asked to remove them), and the straps tend to twist when strapping them in (they seem a bit thinner than those on our old seat). Our biggest complaint about the EverSlim is how short the strap is on the buckle. It sits very low between my child's thighs, which makes it difficult to buckle and unbuckle without pinching them. We find this to be a major issue and are considering switching back to the old car seat until it's time to convert to high back booster. Overall, if I didn't have past experience with various other car seats, I'd think I'd be content with this one. We have a family of 6 with 2 pre-teens and 2 in carseats. Most rear-facing seats in the center back seat of our truck prevent the center front seat from sitting fully upright. This one does not interfere with the front seat at all, in any position! Also compact enough that none of the carseat base protrudes over the front edge of the truck seat. Side-to-side it fits easily within the designated center seat, providing passengers or carseats on either side of it plenty space! Adjusting this seat is a breeze. For height adjustment the one-handed lever above the head rest slides smoothly and audibly locks into place. The button and strap at the front of the seat to tighten and loosen the shoulder straps push and pull smoothly as well. The magnetic chest clip is SO easy, notably easier than a typical buckle style. A red/green visual shows when it is latched or unlatched, LOVE that! If installing the seat in your vehicle rear-facing be sure to peek under the top edge of the seat cover as the &quot;level line&quot; is a bit hidden under there. Minor downsides for me were the tight openings for the belt positioning paths- threading a vehicle belt needs to be done from the front of the seat- totally possible so not a big deal, just be aware of that. The anchor latches are the manual type so I just pinch the clip closed then tip it to the side to pull it back off of the vehicle anchor when uninstalling. Lastly, the cupholders are removable but require force to pull out. Cover them tightly while removing them if they're full of yuckiness or it can fling everywhere. Cleaning is simple with easily removable/machine washable covers and fabric that wipes off nicely with a damp microfiber cloth. A bit heavy overall but offers sturdiness and comfort in return! Great long-term carseat to keep your little one safe and comfortable from birth to middle school. The first thing that I'm excited about is the slim fit, and the ability to fit 3 seats safely across one row. The second game changer is how it grows with a child from infancy to school-age. I can easily adjust this car seat to fit any child of mine, who sit rear facing, forward facing, or in a booster. We currently have our 2.5 year old using it and she loves how comfortable the padding is. She has space to use the cup holder and snack holder without the seat taking up too much room. My favorite is the magnetic clip across the chest that allows for a smooth loading and unloading experience. I do worry that my daughter would be able to figure out how to undo that by herself faster than a regular chest clip, though. There is a snack Cup with cover and cup holder. That is something I have not seen with other car seats. Although, I'm not sure if I want crackers just sitting in the car seat for days or weeks at a time. The car seat was easy to adjust to my daughters size, and was fairly easy to install in the car. It easily fit in the middle seat of the backseat of our minivan between our current two car seats. The fact that it is machine washable is very convenient. The only downside we saw compared to our other car seat was that my husband had some difficult with the latch system transferring it from car to car. We had been on the hunt for a new car seat for my husbands car since my 4 year old was growing out of his old one. While we don't have multiple car seats, the back seat of the car is very small, so finding a seat that would fit and still allow others to sit in the back or in the front passenger seat without feeling cramped was one of our top priorities. This car seat is perfect for that. It remains slim without losing the comfort of larger seats. My 4 year old said it was just as comfortable as his bigger seat in our other car. Right now we are still using the forward facing mode, but will soon be able to move into the assisted booster phase. I love that this seat will take him all the way through the backless booster, so we won't need another one. The one-handed conversion feature really is just that - one handed. Super easy. My other favorite features of this are the magnetic clip on the front. It snaps right on and has a green arrow that lets you know he's locked in. It's red when its not in place correctly so even my son could tell. I also love that the entire cover is machine washable. My son loves that it has two cup holders (which are easily removed for more space) so he has one for snacks and one for his drink. Installation was no different from other car seats, easy to follow the instructions but as always takes a little effort. Worth the time to get it secure though! Overall we are really happy with this seat. The magnetic snap makes it a breeze to buckle himself in and it's even easier for me to unbuckle him without messing up my longer nails. The only issue we have had is the middle buckle area is a bit short and snug, so it may be time to transition into a seatbelt booster instead of the harness. In order to adjust it, you'd have to unstrap and undo the entire cloth seating attachment. First of all, what I like about this is car seat is that it transforms to a standard booster seat meaning I can go all the way from newborn to grade school without having to buy anything else. This is also lighter making swapping out to another vehicle or taking out in general, easier. It's also a lot narrower than my current seat giving more room for adult passengers that are in the back seat. My toddler loves the tilt adjustability making her more comfortable on longer car rides. The seat material is well made and does not run too hot. I also love that I can use this car seat for years as a booster and then backless booster as he grows up. I was thrilled to receive this seat as I had been looking for a convertible for my 5 month old. There are so many things I loved about this seat. First off, the seat cover is not only antimicrobial, but also machine washable and dryer friendly. If you have kids, you know messes happen and most car seats are not dryer friendly. This means you must air dry the seat, which leaves you without a seat until it's fully dried. This feature is so helpful to get your seat clean without holding you back! I love that the seat can easily convert to booster mode when the child is ready, although our oldest is not there yet! The seat is slim and leaves room in the back for another rider along with our oldest in his rear facing seat. The cupholders and snack cup are dishwasher safe, another helpful feature. The magnetic clip fastens and unfastens with ease. Car seat safety is of utmost importance to me, and upon reading the manual I had a few questions I wanted to clarify to ensure proper install. I called customer service and they were incredibly helpful and even scheduled a FaceTime with one of their CPSTs to check the fit and install. This level of customer care would lead me to purchase from this brand in the future. The only thing I feel that could be improved upon would be a higher rear facing limit. It is extremely sturdy, easy to clean (for me at least) and my daughter always look comfortable. There are really only 2 cons I've found after using this seat for a while- the straps do tend to twist somewhat easily if you aren't careful while buckling and the button to loosen the straps is kind of hard to get to. But overall, this is a great car seat, it fits snugly and securely in our car and was fairly easy to install. This car seat will work from infant age all the way till my kid no longer needs a booster seat. It changes to each stage extremely easy and with little to no hassle. The slim design is also great if you have limited space. There is plenty of room (in our Ford Expedition) to go three car seats wide, or have plenty of room for passengers. We have another high end slim car seat, and the Everslim is way more comfortable, and will grow with our kid for a longer period of time. My favorite part is the magnetic strap. This is the first time I have used a magnetic chest strap and I really like it. I didn't know what to think of it at first, but it is so easy to use. It has a green indicator to tell you if it's secure or not. You don't have to worry about pinching your kid or there clothes like the old style clips. I love that I can use it for any of my kids from 4, 2, or 1 month. The fact that it can grow with 1 kid for TEN years at a reasonable price point is mind blowing as well. I really liked the addition of a snack cup lid on one of the cup holders, plus how removable everything is for cleaning. I think my favorite feature might be the magnetic chest clasp which makes the buckling process so much easier, and the green/red indicator which is a great visual for older kids learning to buckle themselves. I love that it is narrow enough to fit several car seats in my second row! I have four kids and an SUV, and space is very limited. This car seat is aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional, and SO easy to clean, which is so needed in my current vehicle and season of life. I love that you can use it from an infant seat to a toddler/convertible seat, all the way to a backless booster seat (with one hand!). I look forward to using this car seat for years to come. Installation was a breeze and the cup holder and snack cup are so convenient with small children. My baby is 11 months old and we just transitioned him out of his infant seat into this convertible car seat, however my 3 year old is still rear faced so we tried it out with her as well! Our daughter gets motion sick a lot and our last car seat had reached its limits. We turned our daughter to forward facing and the switch around wasn't difficult at all AND the fact that you can make this into a small booster seat later is absolutely amazing. Changing this seat into a booster is also insanely simple which is every parents dream! We've always bought 3-in-1's but end up buying a slimmer booster later so we're so excited to have a more slimming seat that our daughter can use all the way through! The slim design works so much better for our daughter and us! It's gives us more room in the car for their bags of snacks and activists and makes her road naps more comfortable and she doesn't have as much space to flip her head around. The magnetic clip is a nice feature and prevents chest pinching and our daughter loves doing it herself. Though it doesn't have the fancier latch like others do, it wasn't difficult to get it tightened. The slim design was noticeable upon unboxing. This car seat can easily go from baby to toddler to child booster mode with a few adjustments, my favorite being the one hand height adjustment button, saving me time and frustration! My children range in age from 1 month, 4y and 6y which gave me the unique opportunity to try out multiple seat settings including the 5 position adjustable base. The infant back facing was a great fit for my little guy, the removable infant inserts provide an extra soft padding while the material is breathable and easily washed. The rear facing level line ensured we had the perfect installation fit for my little one. The forward facing mode was &quot;so comfy&quot; according to my 4yr old who begged for us to let her have the car seat but of course she was met by the 6yr old who also wanted to try it out! If I could change anything on this car seat it would be the style of lower anchor belt hooks, installing the hook clip around the anchor in the car is easily done but takes some effort and finagling to remove, this is not a deal breaker for me, the clip is secure and safe which is always top priority! Overall the EverSlim was a hit with the kids and I love that this carseat can take you from infant/5lbs to 10years/100 lbs. The SecureTech Magnetic chest clip provided extra peace of mind with the green locked / red unlocked identifier. The removable cup and snack holder are top rack dishwasher safe which is an added bonus! This carseat is all you need from birth until age ten. I received this car set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It is very versatile and will fulfill all your needs when it comes to picking a carseat. From 5 pounds and up, it will accomodate any child. It has 4 modes: rear-facing, forward-facing, belt-positioning booster and backless booster. The fabric can be completely taken off and washed in the washing machine. I love that since kids get messy all the time. I would say it's one of my favorite features of this car seat. Another favorite is the chest buckle. It is magnetic and has red and green color to show if it's buckled or not. Super easy to use and very different from the original buckles. Then there are the cupholders which are removable. How awesome is that. It extremely hard to get all the gunk out of the cupholders in carseats. This one has them removable. Awesome invention. When it comes to safety of the carseat, the brand itself has it covered. Safety1st is a trusted brand.
