However it's been 5 days and only myself and my husband have touched the gate and all but one of the screws came out of the drywall. It was also not as easy as it says to install. Yes, the installation per the directions was quite easy, but something must have been off with the guides on mine (the guides are really like cardboard boxes) because after it was installed it did not close right. I needed to undo everything I did on one side and put more holes in the wall. Now I can't even use the gate and have ended up with many large holes. I'm extremely disappointed and wish I had listened to the reviews that warned about this.
Date published: 2024-07-01

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Gate! We have a 4-level-split house, so strong, reliable gates is a must in our house! We have tried many different style gates and the new Everywhere Gate is my favorite! The easy to adjust tabs ensured that we got a tight, strong fit (which my son quickly tested by standing on it shortly after we got it installed). It fully expands the entire width of the doorway without having to add on any extension parts. We love that there's no bottom lip to worry about tripping over (especially my parents and grandparents when they come visit), and my son loves that he can still easily drive his cars etc through when the gate is open. Compared to other gates that we own, one big pro is that this gate doesn't narrow the walking space, since it mounts right to the door jambs - no annoying screw in disks that you can never remember which way to turn, or that come loose and slip along the wall. Lastly, the ease of opening with one hand - but tricky enough that my 2 year old can't figure it out-is well constructed. Bonus - the gate swings both ways! The only small con is that you do need to mount it to the wall using screws (which are included), so if you aren't wanting to put holes in your wall, this wouldn't be an ideal design. They are super small though and would be easy to fill/patch later. Would definitely buy this gate again!
Date published: 2024-07-01

Rated 4 out of 5 by gloecknerj from Very Sturdy and Easy! Easy to install with simple instructions. The issue we are having with ours is that the clamps that set the width do not hold position properly. Our gate popped open when our 1 y/o pushed on it. Fortunately I was there and caught her. Upon inspection of the gate I found the lower clamps had allowed the gates bottom latch to become disengaged. I re-adjusted the gate and opened it and closed it a few times and once again found that the bottom latch was out of adjustment. This design is going to kill a child, the latches are clearly poorly designed (I am a design engineer who designs machines and safety guarding) and I even recall making a comment to my wife that I didn't like the locking mechanism. I've since retrofitted my gate so it is no longer adjustable. Again do not buy, this gate will kill a child some day. Keep your children safe. It is really sturdy and we are my son just learned to climb and tries pulling on everything so I'm glad it's secured tightly in the wall. highly recommend this--especially if you hate putting together furniture and following a huge book of directions, this is nothing like that. The instructions were clear and it was really easy to install on the top of our stairs.
Date published: 2024-07-01

Rated 1 out of 5 by TVS from I would NOT recommend this gate. I would NOT recommend this gate to anyone. Operation of the gate is the most difficult thing ever. The slide and push mechanisms (spring actions) are very stiff and do not work. Unless you have another access out of the room you are trapped. I would consider this product a safety hazard and think it should be recalled by the Product Safety Commission.
Date published: 2024-07-01

Rated 4 out of 5 by Liza from Easy to use and set up! Very easy to use and set up. We have a 19 month old and needed something a bit more sturdy for the stairway. It opens and closes great for us yet keeps her from opening it (even though she tries everyday ) If you're looking for a gate and are okay with having to screw it into the wall, I would suggest using this or something similar from this particular brand.
Date published: 2024-07-01

Rated 1 out of 5 by now we need a new gate and wall repairs from Gate does not work in drywall What drew me to this gate was that it specifically said it would work in drywall. After less than a week on use (without the kids present, so no climbing or standing on it) the drywall screws have all come loose on the gate side. It works well, as long as you have not intention of ever opening it. If you do want to use it as a gate, I would strongly recommend you look somewhere else. At best, this buys you a couple weeks of use and a wall left behind as a mess.
