The sling is shallow so She was barely submerged. We just placed a warm wet wash cloth over her tummy to keep her warm. Worked fine. However, now that she's 11 months old and had her first bowel movement in the bath, you discover that it's not as easy to clean like you once thought. Its the holes for the feet on the toddler side that are quite difficult to get out the caked in feces! I had to use a pen to reach the bottom and even then it was difficult to get it all out. If those holes didn't exist it wouldn't be so bad. As for the size of it, my daughter is also quite petite so it works fine. Bigger babies may find it a little snug. My baby doesn't like the sling as it makes her body cold.
