They have a train set that came with their table but it wasn&rsquo;t a Thomas train set. However, this set has really made them want more of the Thomas Train sets. I understand why they cost a bit more than others as they are very well made and solid especially for crazy boys to play with! It's nice to have one of the main stations from the books and show. The bench is a nice detail, as is the clock and figures. I'm not sure how I feel about it not being totally wooden, like the classic wooden train toys, but it doesn't take away from the usability and fun of the toy, so I won't dock any points for that. The station itself is not large, but has a little food service built in. Two figures come with the set, a chef and a passenger. Both have swivels in their hips so they can sit on the bench or in the passenger car (both included). There's also a grandfather clock, and two track adapters. These allowed us to connect Knapford station to another brand of wooden tracks. Overall this is a fun addition to my son&rsquo;s playtime. My 10 year old was a huge train and Thomas guy when he was little and he was really impressed with Knapford Station. Both he and my 5 year old found it easy to connect to our other wooden tracks. They both liked that it came with two people and a cart. My younger son found it really easy and fun to play with. I found this toy to be very well made, as you&rsquo;d expect from a Thomas the Train product. When we got this Knapford Station he was really excited and immediately connected it to his old tracks and started playing with it. Its has been a couple of days since we got it and it seems that the excitement has not faded away. That&rsquo;s a good thing! It is very well made&hellip;very good quality. Some parts are wood (pillars, clock, people, train car) and others are plastic (like the ceiling, floor and track connectors). The characters are a good addition because it opens the door for more interaction. Obviously this station is meant to be part of a bigger train set, so if your kids don&rsquo;t have wooden tracks already, you might want to get some before buying this station as it would be kind of boring by itself. The good thing is that it is compatible with other brands (my son&rsquo;s tracks are from Ikea). He loves building new sets and playing with the people in the trains that come with the sets. When he got the new set. He said &ldquo;wow&rdquo;! He was very excited to open it and play with it. As a parent, the set looked cute. It has a baker and a train car, the station is a bakery, there is also a bench as well as a few other pieces. On the front of the box very large print it says WOOD! which I interpreted to mean all the pieces are made out of wood. I know that having wood toys is a big deal for some families. It&rsquo;s not for mine, but I understand that many families feel strongly about only having wood toys toys. Opening the box, a small screwdriver was needed to take the train set out of the box. I wasn&rsquo;t quite sure why, and it seemed a little much for the toy, but it once I got the screwdriver it was easy to take out of the box. My son immediately got all of the pieces out and started getting to work adding the train station to his train table, and having trains stop at the station. The station fit perfectly with the other Thomas and Friends tracks I had, as well as the other wooden tracks that I already had. There was a slight uneven-ness in one of the connectors (see photo) But it really didn&rsquo;t affect the trains. My son really enjoyed playing with the Baker and, since he&rsquo;s in a doughnut phase right now, loved having all of the other people come up to the train station and order donuts from the Baker. The Baker can also sit in the train car and he liked putting the baker in the train car and zooming him around the tracks. He also liked putting other things in the train car, like people, and trees and signs and pretty much anything else that a three-year-old would want to put in a train car. Now, the one thing I have to say is that it doesn&rsquo;t seem that the station itself is wooden. It may be made of a wooden and plastic combination, but it really doesn&rsquo;t seem like it&rsquo;s all wood. Again that&rsquo;s not a big deal for me, but it may be a big deal for other parents who insist on all wood toys for their kids. I added a picture so you can see what I&rsquo;m talking about. This may seem like a nitpicky thing, But I know some families who would feel that they may not have gotten the wood toy that they thought they bought. I don&rsquo;t think that would&rsquo;ve been such a big deal if the word WOOD was not so big on the front of the packaging. Overall, this train set was a big hit. Especially since there were donuts involved. I&rsquo;m not sure how special and different this train set is versus other train sets, but my son really enjoys playing with it and it&rsquo;s a permanent part of his train set up. He set it all up but then got quickly disappointed when most of his other trains couldn't connect because they had the latch and this one had the magnet. He was looking for another train to carry the other person and when he found one that would work it was a latch. Most of the trains that we have purchased within the last year have had the latch connection, where as this one has the magnet. which dose not make it as easy to connect his other trains. He insisted that we go to the store to purchase a train that would fit the additional person and that had a magnet. My son is 4 1/2 and loves trains. This set is super cute and I know it is coming as a series, my only recommendation is that you go universal with either magnet or latch. The set set up easy and connected to his other wooden track and is super cute. I would recommend this set for any child as it is super cute and easy to set up for any child. I look forward to purchasing additional pieces to go with this set, and of course a train that is compatable to hold the passenger with a magnet. The pieces are well made and my son has been playing with it every day. I love that there are two people included and that they can sit and stand. I wish there was a ticket booth or a luggage piece.
