The first time I put it on her, she thought it was a trapeez and just hung there. The next few times, she just wobbled back and forth and then onto her knees to crawl. Part of the problem is she is a skinny mini and with how tight I have to make the belt, it is like having just one handle, not two. They come to the same spot. When she walks with me holding her hands her arms are bent so there shouldn't be a problem with her shoulders.
Date published: 2008-05-24

Rated 4 out of 5 by Happy Mom from I liked it! I just got this fun toy yesterday. He did his first baby steps at 9 months. It was very hard for us to be bending down everytime he wanted to walk on his own. Since he is not able to fully balance himself, we tried the Walking Wings and it provided a lot of support for him. One is able to walk but is scared to let go, the other want's to walk but isn't quite ready to yet. Their Early On PT had Walking Wings and used them and I LOVED the idea. I got mine and so far so good. My one twin who is ready to talk feels comfortable enough to let go with it on and hopefully will just 'forget' one day and start walking. Wile the other twin is finding his balance with the sue of these. These are great because the source of balance with toddlers walking is with their arms, this frees their arms so they can learn to balance. It's not inteneded for younger infants only those that are 10months and older that are showing interest in walking.
Date published: 2008-01-09

Rated 3 out of 5 by Alison from ehhh...so-so It was easier for me to "walk" my child without this. I saw those other negative customer reviews and I think I know why the product didn't work for them. It's very simply, I don't think the "Walking Wings" is for babies of 6 to 9 months who are still crawling or haven't yet developed a sense of walking confidence at least by holding their parent's hands. If the baby hasn't started making his/her first steps holding hands then I recommend you wait until that happens. I bought mine for my 12 month boy who already started walking a little bit holding our hands but didn't seem to feel confident to walk all by himself. As soon as I put the "Walking Wings" on him it was like I freed his mind from fear and he started walking without even looking for my hands any more. And as for my lower back pains....they're GONE!!!! Good:When your little one is ready to try to walk, they can walk but cannot do it alone. Adults always use their arms to help them stay up. If the child is little, its hard for grown ups to bend over and constantly follow along. So I like this for that part.Bad:Price is too expensive I feel for all that it is. Plus, the time frame from when your little one learns to walk and walks unattended isnt all that long so is it really worth [$] for a month or so? The straps that you hold on to are like a leash and unless you hold them up high or same as their arms, as another commented, they do look like a puppet. If I knew more about this or saw how it was made, I woudlnt have bought it and put the money toward something else. Overall, not worth the money but does save pulling on the little ones arms.
Date published: 2007-11-05

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ty's Mommy from Don't waste your money I felt like the puppet master. I loved using this in public places, like the park, because it reduced the number of falls while he was beginning to walk and also limited the level of contact his hands had with public floors.
