We are having a lot of difficulty with the camera quality. Most of the time the picture is very pixilated and we cannot tell if our baby is awake or asleep. We are always within short proximity of the monitor and we do not live in a big house. The app for this monitor also shows poor quality. The app on the mobile device isn't very good, you have to refresh every time you're using, you cannot go in a different app and have it run in the background. I did not mount the camera as I felt it didn't need to be, plus I could change location if I wanted after. It does pan widely from side to side, but it does not seem to tilt very much compared to other cameras I have had. I will say, the picture is very clear and does zoom in quite far. I did notice that it does not take much to change it from day mode to night mode. Just someone walking in front of the window blocking the sunlight can make it change. I did download the app on my phone to try it out. It is nice that the camera monitor actually walks you through how to set up the app. The app will be nice to have when I'm not home, but can peek in on my kids and make sure all is well. It gives me the assurance and peace of mind that I need knowing that my child is doing that my child is being supervised even if I'm not physically there not physically there such as with us such as with a sitter or someone else. The picture quality is clear and the field of view for the monitors is great. Set-up and installation was rather straightforward. The motion detection feature is handy for my toddler that sometimes gets up in the night. The parent unit and the camera units came ready to use; I just took them out of the package, plug in the chargers, angle and turn on the cameras, then they are ready to go. The parent unit also provides video instruction on how to use the monitor as well as walking us through the steps for connecting to our home wifi network as well as how to pair the monitor with the app on our phone. The video quality is also great on both the parent unit screen and on the MyVTech Baby app for our phones, even the night vision is very good quality. There&rsquo;s also the duo view mode so you can watch Theo screens simultaneously if you have two kids. The tilting and panning is very helpful so I get the right angle. The night view is also very clear. There&rsquo;s a lot of cool extra features like motion alert and music machine including white noise. With the hot summer, I love having the temperature reading which keeps my baby safe. Good to know: These are not wireless cameras so they have to be plugged in. The screen does not have to be plugged in but should be for continuous streaming otherwise the battery will die. There are numerous settings on the monitor that allow me to either look at each room individually, continuously switch between both rooms or have a split screen to see both at one time. All of these options have been used so far, and it&rsquo;s been extremely nice! The monitor only works within WiFi range, and if you are outside of it, you can use their app. The app (and entire account) was easy to set up and connect everything together. While the app does have a few minor glitches, it&rsquo;s overall been a positive experience. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can quickly look at my son if I can&rsquo;t find the monitor, or am away from home for whatever reason. We were able to put a camera on each of their dressers and it connected to the video screen quickly. One of my favorite features so far is the wide angle viewing which is able to capture both of their rooms completely! The supplied sounds it comes with also helps calm my two year old when he wakes up crying. The 1080p video quality is perfect to be able to check in on them and even is in color. You can also set motion detection alerts in case my two year old wants to try to break out in night which comes in handy. Overall I am extremely pleased with the baby monitor after trying multiple others. So out of the box they are working on a closed loop at 2.4HGz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) with the parent unit LCD. You can leave them as is, or you can choose to go to the App store, download the free MyVtech APP, set up an account password, and then go into the Parent Unit and enable WiFi on the camera. If you do this, then the video stream is visible on up to 8 WiFi smart devices (smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc) as well as the Parent Unit which is always active on 2.4GHz(you must have WiFi in your home to enable WiFI).
