<span itemprop="description">I purchased two sets of these monitors back in November and have already exchanged one of them and have had countless issues with each set.
There are two main pros with these that I want to mention and the only reason I gave it two starts. 1: The battery life is great and they hold a charge for quite a long time. 2: The range is great. I can take these out of my house and up to my mailboxes (about 6 houses away) and they still work great, both for the picture and the sound.
Now, for the cons. First and foremost and the most issues Ive had is with the night vision. It turns on and off randomly and makes it hard to see sleeping children when it's not on. I've also had issues with them freezing, both the video on the sound. On the monitor it looks like my daughter is sleeping, but I can hear her crying in her room. They "click" constantly. It's like they're cutting in and out and the info across the top of the screen constantly blinks on and off while it's clicking. If I have it set to have the screen darken after 5 minutes and this "clicking" starts, the screen will turn back on and sometimes it doesn't go off unless I restart the monitor. After 3 sets and 3 months of regular issues, I am returning the last two sets I have here and getting something completely different.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Bought this monitor a year ago while I was pregnant. Paid half price on boxing day. My daughter was born 6 months ago but the monitor wasn't consistently used until about 3 months ago. It worked great at first, but about a week ago (right when our year warranty was up), the sound starting cutting in and out, and now won't work at all. The picture quality is good, including night vision, and I like the two way communication, however, not being able to hear when my baby cries defeats the purpose of the monitor. Glad I didn't pay full price for this monitor as I now have to buy a different one.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We have the vtech vm343 and loved it overall, so going from that to this is a bit of an adjustment.(No pan/tilt mode from parent unit, smaller screen, not as good of camera quality)
I knew with it being half the price not to have as high expectations though.
The picture is not great, but I've definitely seen worse. The parent screen is quite small, so if you use both cameras it just patrol modes vs. screen sharing. You will need a plug relatively close by as the camera cords aren't overly long. I have not played around with all settings, but it seems fairly straight forward to use and installing on the wall was easy (no screws provided)</span>

<span itemprop="description">This system has so many flaws. Issues we have had in the short time frame we have been using include:
*terrible connection- video images freezes more often then not. This occurs from room to room....cannot even go to the bathroom without the image freezing or totally going to a blank blue screen.
*moving the cameras via the arrows on the handheld has only worked a handful of times
* Awful sound connection- We can only hear the sound 10% of the time if we are lucky...this defeats the purpose of the monitor if we can’t hear our baby crying!
*Short battery life
I cannot think of one Pro and would advise anyone looking at this item to pass. I will be going into babies r us and complaining.</span>

CONS: The battery life will barely last a 2 hr nap and the angle of the camera cannot be adjusted from the monitor. One of the cameras is always getting bumped but u don’t know until I leave the room and turn on the monitor.
PROS: It does have great range and the monitor is easy to use! The sound is also good as u don’t have the background white noise while the monitor is on.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This monitor was only $80 for it. Not bad and I was going to keep it because it gave me two monitors for only $80 and I would live with the fact that the camera picture quality was low, didn't have a feature where you could scan the room (move around the camera angles) using the parent unit. It wasn't until I when to install the cameras in my daughter's room that I noticed the plug-in cord was way to short and would reach the plug-in from the shelf I wanted to place it. You would think they would provide you with a nice long cord, so you could place the monitor where you want some you can't mobile the viewing angles using the parent unit. It was because of all.these things combined that I returned the monitor. Very disappointed because the price was sooooo good!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I had the VTech VM333-2 monitor for the last two years until a tiny piece inside the adapter broke. This monitor was comparable, but it was missing a few key features that I'd been spoiled with my last monitor including pan and tilt cameras. The picture quality on this monitor is AWFUL. It is grainy and terrible. The dual camera is a great feature that vTech offers, and I needed it to pan through the cameras. The delay between panning through cameras is unreal. It takes forever, and by the time the picture loads on the second camera, the parent unit is trying to switch back to the first camera. The green lights that indicate that the cameras are working light up the entire room like a night light. The sensitivity of the cameras are terrible - I heard my daughter screaming through my closed door, her closed door and a hallway and the monitor did not pick it up. The quality of the monitor is low too. I feel like if my daughter got a hold of it and dropped it, it would explode into a million pieces. Needless to say, my husband and I ripped apart the old monitor, and somehow figured out where the prong was inside the adapter and fixed the old monitor. I will be returning this one! Terrible product.</span>

THe VM2251-2 parent unit has internal rechargeable battery and the cameras will need to be plugged in to the adapters to connect to the parent. unit.

The VM2251-2 has VOX sensitivity &bull; With this feature, you can choose to hear sounds from the baby unit all the time, or to hear sounds that exceed a certain level. You can use the parent unit to adjust the microphone sensitivity of your baby unit. The higher the sensitivity level, the more sensitive the baby unit is in detecting sounds for transmitting to the parent unit.
