This humidifier is cool mist with a gallon tank so it can run for a full 24hrs without needing a refill. It removes 99% of germs from the water before dispensing and can be used with Vicks pads so it will be great come cold season. My son has allergies and sometimes has trouble breathing at night so the low quiet setting allows us to keep this on overnight without disrupting his sleep. Tank is clear so you can see how much water to fill and also to see how much is being used. The fan that blows out the air is quiet on the lowest setting, their is 3 settings, High, Medium, Low. As u turn the dial, you can hear the fan speeds and the air pushes out harder or lower, whatever your preference is. I put in the VapoPads, soothing sleepy comfort. When you put it in new, at first it's a strong smell then lightens up. Ive run it at night and sometimes during the day. I do feel a difference at night now with breathing, as I am a snorer, and it seems to clear my nasal passageway. Setting it up was pretty simple. The only new thing that I had to do, as opposed to my old one, was soaking the filter and inserting it wet. I got my humidifier at a perfect time because my son and I were both congested and having trouble sleeping. After putting a VapoPad in it, we slept better. I won&rsquo;t say it was completely quiet but it was very bearable. It&rsquo;s a pretty nice humidifier. This is a germ-free one. The water tank is on the top. The vents openings located on the bottom front of the humidifier, where the cool humid air blows out of the unit, are slanted towards the floor so the air just blows straight down into the carpet. Placing up top on a table or stool helps, yet when you try to move the unit, water spills out throughout the sides. It has a filter located in the inside that also needs to be wet before using. I've noticed it works best in a smaller room. The larger room's it Doesn't have much affected. Overall, the cleaning process is quite simple. The quilty is good and seems like it will last a long time. There are different fan levels, High, med and low. it is quite won't know it is on unless you chose a higher level. Even, then it is not loud, it will not interrupt your sleep. I Would recommend for smaller space only! This vicks humidifier has kept me headache-free since the first night of use. It truly has been an amazing helpful product for me. I also have had less congestion, sneezing, and other symptoms since I started sleeping with it next to my bed. I appreciate that this humidifier kills germs and allergens in the water tank. I am especially sensitive to mold and fungus, and that had been a primary reason why I had avoided humidifiers for years. The UV technology makes it safe for me to use. I refill the water every night, and it is easy to clean. I also like that you can change/ select the flow level. This is truly a completely different humidifier then the ones we used when I was a kid. Overall, I am extremely happy with this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone else with sinus issues. I really was looking forward to using this for my girls they suffer allergies and ashtma issues and tend to get sick alot , So when I purchased the &quot;Germ Free Cool Moister Humidifier &quot; I knew I was getting the right thing and I truly enjoy the health benefits it helps with so I went home followed all the steps I needed to get that relief I was so looking for with extra added bonus of the the Vicks Pads it comes with was a blessing in didn't have to buy it separately . I placed my Humidifier on a firm level 6 inches away from the wall but out of town reach out to my kids and I pets I removed the water tank from the unit and filled it with nice cool water and secured it properly back on the unit , I soaked the filter in cool water and let it air dry , Don't wring out the filter as it can damaged it I gently folded a new pad into my unit and inserted into the filter slot , I opened the Vicks Pads and inserted it Vapo Pad slot on a angle turned it on once everything was into place secured properly . I set mine on High maximum for that moisture benefit works so well I noticed the difference and I noticed a big change in my kids breathing and sinus cold systoms so as night time came I went back in and adjusted the Humidifier on Low for the Night Time Sound Sleep Mode works like magic I am so impressed they actually slept through the night with not once waking up coughing or wheezing I was definitely relieved Kills up to 99% of Bacteria , Mold , Fungus!! Also Keeps Out Viruses Out Of The Water !. It's great for Large room sizes to works up to 24 hours of operation it's a 1.0 Gallon Capacity , self regulated evaporative system and it adjust output for maximum comfort and it is quiet and won't disturb your child/ children while asleep it's very soothing and the Vicks Pads work amazing releases the right amount into the air I love compact it is .. Fresh and clean air: My kids always feel uncomfortable about the nose, but after operating this humidifier, I found he did not have nasal congestion syndrome. Not sure if that machine works. 2. Can be used for aromatherapy: I have a small one oil diffuser but too small for my living room. This humidifier has a small hole where I can put some vapor disks. If my kids got some cough, maybe I can put some mint to comfort their noses. 3. Big and flat tank: The tank is big enough for my living room. and also can last for several hours. Also, the flat tank is easy to settle down on the table. Cons: 1. Not convenient: When I open the lid, this humidifier still needs a filter and is not ultrasonic or filter-free. Not sure how many months I should replace the filter, but obviously needs more money to get another one. To extend the filter lifetime, I clean the humidifier by using a little white vinegar. 2. Not quiet: This humidifier still makes some noise such that I cannot sleep very well. You can hear the fan operating steadily. 3. Not strong: All tank and body are made by plastic, and the controller is the plastic button for you to twist. However, the tank is fragile. When I pour the water, I Inadvertently bumped into the sink and found the tank got some scratches. 4. UV bulb did not work. When I opened it up and started to put together it was so easy. All you do is wet the filter before using and you can add the Vick&rsquo;s little pad if you want and if not that&rsquo;s ok. I personally have been using it because of sickness. It spreads Vick&rsquo;s all through the place and helps with sinuses and colds. You can also leave it out and just filter the air like it is. It has really felt great to have it running. It cleans the air and just feels refreshing it has three settings. Two that more for the day and one more for night but all aren&rsquo;t that loud at all but they sure do their job. It&rsquo;s vwry easy to open the tank and fill it with water. I have had to do it daily if I run it all day. It&rsquo;s very light and portable.
