My daughter just had a hundred degree fever yesterday and her nose was so blocked she was crying. She is 6 years old. She has strep throat as well. an hour into using the humidifier her nose was clear the Vicks vapor pad her room completely vaporized and it lasted longer than 8 hours. It's so easy to use to use by filling the well that has a large opening instwad of a small one, it hold about half a gallon of water, runs on a cool fine mist that is immediately felt moisturizing the air, an on and off switch that works like a dial on the front which also controls the stream of the mist. Best part is the small vicks pads that can be used with it for an even better relief of stuffy noses and congestion. Easy to clean with soapy water and takes a minimun amount of space. The design is sleek and clean so it looks nice sitting anywhere in the house. The size is great because it fits perfectly on my night stand which is great for small rooms like mine. I chose this humidifier simply because it&rsquo;s filter free and I tend to forget to change them so this was one of the greatest things about it! It is easy to fill with water and turn the knob to the different settings. The cool mist comes out of the top in one area. The convienient little chamber in the front holds the Vick&rsquo;s pads which is going to come in handy when I need it. Although the door was a little bit difficult for me to open but good if you have it in a child&rsquo;s room so they can&rsquo;t open it. It is a very quiet unit, not silent but a peaceful low sound which is great. Due to weather conditions we&rsquo;ve been having trouble making the house humidity level to normal and since we have a toddler, this definitely helped make his room humid enough to be comfortable at night. This size is a little smaller than the other one we have but it&rsquo;s perfect for my toddler&rsquo;s room. I also like that it has the option to put some fabric fragrance so I don&rsquo;t need to use essential oils. I've only used a warm mist humidifier so this was my first time trying a cool mist. It really helps maintain a nice room temperature without feeling the steaming heat from the warm mist. The was super easy to assemble. The package also includes a sample of the menthal vapopad which last about 2 nights. I ended up buying more of these vapopad since it gave a nice scent that was cooling and calming to the air. I haven't cleaned it yet but the instructions seems very easy to use. Setup was a breeze and I appreciated the Vick&rsquo;s menthol pad sample that came with it so I was able to try it out right out of the box. I don&rsquo;t have hard water so I filled it with regular tap water. I inserted the pad that smells like Vick&rsquo;s. I turned it all the way up and turned it on. I can see the vapor so I know it&rsquo;s working and the room filled with Vick&rsquo;s scent. It is the quietest humidifier I&rsquo;ve ever used. Even tho I was congested, I slept through the night and never heard it once. My husband was super congested, luckily when we received this humidifier it came with a sample Vick&rsquo;s pad. We put it on the other night and not only did he sleep better but he woke up feeling 50% better than he did the day before. The set up is too easy and I absolutely love that it doesn&rsquo;t have a filter. We had an older model with the filters and it was a pain when you would forget to get a new filter and not be able to use it when needed.
