It has the option of using it no touch or forehead. The no touch is perfect for me, it allows me to take their temperature without waking them up. I also use the forehead method sometimes and it is easily cleaned between each patient with an alcohol wipe. It is very accurate and is very quick. Perfect for at home use or in the health care setting. I like that it has different colors based on the temperature reading. For example, a high temperature which would be a fever has a red light whereas a normal reading is green. It has a light indicator showing where it is aiming on the forehead which is helpful.
