I can easily open and close the door without any struggle, but still effective enough that my toddler doesn't know how to open it. The kids love having the extra attention from our furry friend. On the contrary, Cooper thinks that all of the kids small toys are his chew toys. This ends up with tear filled eyes with the kids and then a stressed mama for having to console them, and clean the mess. Of course we don&rsquo;t want to limit Cooper to only one room in the house, so now whenever he comes over for the weekend we put the baby gate up in front of the playroom doorway. This allows him to still walk up to the door and say &ldquo;hi&rdquo; to the kids, without sneaking away with a small baby doll or toy race car. It&rsquo;s also helped contain the kids toy mess into the playroom only. It&rsquo;s truly a win-win for everyone, even Cooper who doesn&rsquo;t get scolded for chewing up loved toys. In addition, once our baby is mobile we will be able to block off the living area so that he can&rsquo;t sneak his way off to a bedroom. This gate is sturdy, easy to set up and easy to take down. The kids know how to operate it, which is a plus. Our old gate we always had to open and close it for them, or they would try to jump over it! Haha! This would make a great gift for an expecting mother, as people often don&rsquo;t think about the mobile stages of the baby. It can be extended or retracted to fit most door ways. It's super simple to build and took me all of 10 mins to install, thanks to the template sheet in the box which makes it easy to know where to place all the screws. There is no floor bar, which is good for accessibility reason in our family. The gate swings both ways and thanks to how thin it is it doesn't take any room from your doorway. I would recommend watching their YouTube video, doesn&rsquo;t show assembly instructions but it gave me a better understanding how the pieces fit together. Once I understand that, then it was very easy to put together which I did by myself. It was very easy to install and extremely sturdy. It keeps my 80 pound dog locked out of our kitchen. This gate is tall and east to use. It opens easily and latches securely. The gate is really long so it fit in our wide open door space. We decided to install it at the top of our stairs in order to prevent our almost 2-year-old from any unwanted accidents. My husband was able to install in a minimal amount of time without any issues. It is easy to open and close for the rest of the family, and keeps my mind at ease knowing my little guy is safe. The bars are close enough together that I don't need to worry about my son accidentally getting through them, and it's height is perfect for preventing him from going over. The white design fits nicely with our home decor and the sturdy metal material it's made of is good quality and easily cleaned when needed.
