A little tricky to get them undone to install them, but I guess that's the point. They don't seem to be the most durable plastic but have withstood some tugging and knocking about by our disgruntled toddler... will probably do the job for as long as we need them. I initially used one on my basement door since I really didn't want my ever-growing 18 month old learning how to open that door and falling down the stairs. The issue I ran into was I was the one having problems trying open the door with this handle cover that makes it very difficult to grab a hold of the actual door handle, turn it, and be able to successfully go into the basement. After a few weeks though, I started to get the hang of it, and thankfully my son still hasn't been able to open the door.
