The seat is such that my granddaughter can get in & out easily herself (it is not bulky). I really like the extra protection provided for her head. Even though she is to big for the smaller fully cushioned carseats and I feel not big enough for the booster only - this gives me comfort knowing her head & neck are protected in case of an accident.</span>
