For granddaughter 10 months. Seem to remember the original phones had flexible handset lead? Can't be a safety risk as the pull along cord is quite long.</span>

If baby wants to put the receiver to ear the base dangles. If I knew it was that short I would have just purchased a real phone for baby to play with.</span>
