This OXO tot masher was incredibly convenient! It&rsquo;s a masher, bowl, and storage container all in one with the head fitting right into the bowl afterwards! So no lost pieces. The first food I tried out was avocado, and I noticed the ridges on not only the masher head, but in the bottom of the bowl as well. Which made the avocado incredibly smooth, no lumps. I served our baby right out of the bowl. So great to not have a bunch of unnecessary utensils everywhere. This was so simple to use and cleaned perfectly. As I muddle down the cut pieces of mangoes it slide up the bowl a bit but the grainy rim of the masher acts as a fork to push it down so I can continue to mash/muddle the remaining pieces of mangoes and the closing lid was an added bonus for me to keep the left over in the fridge for later use. I highly recommend this product for mashing soft food... We had bought a masher previously to use for my daughter, but it was bulky and had a lot of part to clean. This is simple, but very effective. The ridges on the bottom of the bowl, and at the bottom of the masher work very well in mashing the food down easily. It does a very well job at making safe baby food in such little time. My son loves it! It easily fits in my diaper bag, and I can bring this along if we're out to eat. Clean up is very easy too! It rinses off very well, and even a wipe will do when you're in a pinch! The only &quot;concern&quot; is my older kids think it's adorable and want to use it as a mixing bowl in their play kitchen. The opening experience was easy (no hard plastic shells to cut your hands on) and broke down well to recycle. I first tried fresh blueberries - mashed well and was able to use the masher to scrape the blueberries out. Next I tried cubed turkey - shredded it well. I got too confident and tried cheddar cheese cubes... wouldn't advise. Cheese-like textures are too soft and get stuck to the masher. Portability is great - could see myself taking this to a restaurant, ordering a baked potato, and mashing it for my son. I gave it a 'trial run' in my purse to see if it would stay closed throughout a day's worth of movement. It did, but I would be nervous to have a dirty set in my bag if it were to open. BIGGEST STRUGGLE - packing it together wasn't exactly intuitive. You have to cross the two sections of the masher just right, or the lid doesn't close. Perhaps an image on the packaging of proper storing position would be helpful. SECOND LIFE - 100% could totally see this as an avocado masher in my desk at work when my son grows into proper eating.
