<span itemprop="description">This sound machine is best on the market ( we have tried them all) and has everything you need. The range of volume control is amazing, 3 different colours of light projections, 3 different timer setting and impressive selection of baby rhymes, nature sounds and lullabies (none of them is annoying). I highly recommend it for parents of the newborns as it comes with sleep- deprived- parent-friendly controls: volume can be set at barely audible, projections can be set at very dim setting (orange), the on/off switch can be easily found even in the dark. It also has a very sensitive sound sensor and it will respond to baby’s cries with calming music and the light turns on which makes it easier for a parent to navigate in the dark (or if you don’t want that-you can turn the hippo off after baby is asleep). Our toddler depends on it to fall asleep, switches the music according to his mood and the hippo travels with us everywhere. The demo batteries that are included with the hippo wear off pretty quickly and when batteries are weak, the music gets stuck on the first verse and the hippo appears broken (but once you will replace the batteries you can expect about 4 weeks of constant use). Our hippo has been dropped many times and used everyday and we had no problems.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We have a sleep fighter and I was really excited to receive this as a gift but find that it really is not soothing for a baby that is looking for away to stay awake. The music without singing or nature in the background is great for sleep but the rest are too distracting and you can not pick the voice activated sound track. Also it would be better if On the nature /white noise function each sound could be picked (listen you just ocean sounds or rain etc.) not having the nature track cycle through different noises; the owl and crickets are terrible and will snap him awake if he is drifting off so we can't use that setting.</span>

Does it play continuously 45 mins when we switch at 45 mins? I turned it on and chose either 15, 30, or 45. But it only play about 1 min. Is it a mal-function product?

It is a malfunction, contact VTech by phone if you haven&rsquo;t already (and still have the faulty item) and explain what happened. They should send you a replacement and paid postage to ship the old one back for quality control.&nbsp;

They can stay one colour, or switch between two, but they do not move. Just appear and disappear
