After having another baby and seeing a lactation consultant they recommended that I get a smaller shield which I did. I noticed that the design had changed and In comparison to the plastic ones that came with my pump, the smaller ones I purchased had a soft ring and did not seal well. I wish the smaller size flange was the same size length as the 24 mm size flange. As a result I lose suction when pumping and milk gets out all the way around the shield. When I first stated pumping I had this same shape shield without the silicone and I loved it but it broke and medela no longer makes them that way! I have purchased two sets of these shields and they have both flattened out. It doesn&rsquo;t seem to matter how I&rsquo;ve cleaned and sanitized them either. Great concept but not well executed. I have the Medela Advanced, so I was using the regular plastic parts. My SIL convinced me to try these, and I am easily pumping out more milk than I was before! Usually, I would have to massage and massage the entire time, but with these, I only have to massage to encourage my first let down. They are also surprisingly more comfortable than the plastic shields. But I REALLY wish you offered them in other sizes!! I need a 19 mm for the correct size and wish you made them because I love everything else about this breast shield!
