I have not been able to do this the entire year I have had the modela pumps, I constantly have to keep the device plugged in as it won&rsquo;t hold a charge. This has happened with two devices now and I have maybe used them a total of 30 times, of all these times I was only unplugged maybe 3 or 4 times. I find it frustrating that this has happened twice and it&rsquo;s not worth me calling support again. The suction was great and the cups were comfortable but the device was useless. I was pumping 8 times per day and the motor died after a month. Medela replaced it - and a month later, even though I have been pumping less, the new motor died. I also had the tubing connector snap after weeks of low suction and decreasing supply that I didn&rsquo;t understand, despite Medela saying the tubing should never need replacement. As a result I have struggled with engorgement and mastitis. It's too bulky on me to comfortably hold my baby if needed, but luckily it can be worn one side at a time. You also can not bend forward while wearing since there are open holes at the top which is a problem when you have to reach down to pick up your baby or are trying to complete household tasks.
