I actually like it better that way now. My bathroom is tiny, and this sits at the corner of the tub without getting in the way and it still holds a tub-full of toys. The bottom part is not attached, you just sit the gray bucket on top of it and then pick it up to pour the excess water out of the bottom part. I love the convenience of not having to completely dry out each and every toy. I will get a lot of use out of this. I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old. We have tried a lot of different ways to store bath toys and the bath bucket works very well. I like that it is easy to move between different bathrooms and to move out of the way if we have guests using the bath. It is large enough to hold just the right amount of toys. The large drainage holes and separate standing base work well to drain and contain water. It has a very large and easy to hold handle. It handles the weight of being full of bath toys with ease and doesn't buckle like some cheaper handles do. I plan to empty it and clean the bucket every once in a while. We have other MOBY bath collection items and this blends in well with the other items in my kids' bathroom too, a gray striped shower curtain and blue bath mat. The whale design is super cute.
