There was no smell to it. It came with a small, flexible brush to clean the straw. My daughter is able to drink it from any angle. After trying more cups than I can count, none of them were truly leak-free, especially once Niko puts them through his signature &ldquo;shake it upside-down like a maniac&rdquo; test. Every other cup ends in a huge mess, but this one is different! Aesthetics: It&rsquo;s cute, simple, and easy for little hands to hold. Disassembly: Comes apart easily for cleaning, no hidden pieces for milk to get stuck in. And came with its own straw cleaner! Durability: Holds up incredibly well even with constant drops and toddler abuse. Spillage/Leakage: Truly impressive. When shaken hard upside down, only the tiniest amount (if any) spills out. It&rsquo;s the closest thing to a real leak-free cup I&rsquo;ve ever used. This has become my go-to cup, and I&rsquo;ve already purchased more after receiving my first one from Influenster.
