The weighted straw allows for any child to drink from any angle. I had to use these in the past for this exact issue. The lid locks into place making me feel it's secure against a baby's bangs and tosses. The only issue I have is cleaning. It can be tedious due to the multiple parts and small hoses. My daughter used them when she was transitioning to cups with straws and now my son will use this one. I like the design because they are easy to clean and I like that the straw can be flipped under the lid. They are fairly spill proof but will leak with enough shaking or when dropped. They hold a good amount of liquid and my favorite part is that you can hold the cup at any angle and the straw will still work.
