The weighted straw stays attached to the lid wonderfully even when being thrown around a lot. It&rsquo;s great when kids are transitioning to straw cups because they still tilt it back so often but with this can still drink. Now and then this feature does cause water to come out of the straw, but I believe that is in part due to pressure changes since I live in a place with significant elevation change in my daily commute. You also have to ensure you have the cap on straight as it clicks to lock but will partially latch when the cap is crooked. She reaches for them eagerly and gets a lot of water out of it easily. My only issue is that if you're not paying attention you might not secure the lid and straw properly, which leads to the water spilling out when you're not expecting it to. You have to unattach the straw to clean it and if the seal isn't tight when you reattach it'll leak. You also have to make sure the top is screwed on perfectly straight until you hear it snap or else it'll leak. If the lid isn't perfectly straight on the track, it'll seem like you've screwed it on all the way, but it will still leak. If it seems fully tight but you don't hear the snap sound, redo it. She was able to use it independently for milk from 7 months on (after refusing bottles) and they have been great in that sense. But there are some major cons: - the straws are extremely hard to clean and we&rsquo;ve even broken one while cleaning it with the Munchkin-provided squeegee - there is a valve that means nothing will come out. Sounds great, but anything in the top quarter inch of the straw above the valve gets flicked everywhere regularly - the parts are finicky. They have to be clicked in exactly right, and sometimes we&rsquo;re sure we&rsquo;ve done it perfectly and then it gets thrown on the floor and leaves everywhere and have no idea why - there may be some quality control issues? We have about seven cups and some of them we simply cannot screw the tops on. At first, I thought it was us but I think we may actually have a faulty cup base. I was going to contact munchkin to ask for a replacement but we don&rsquo;t even have the energy to hunt through their website to find the contact number.
