<span itemprop="description">These gates are on the high end of the cost spectrum but are easy to install (use a level, the instructions don't recommend this but I think it's necessary to get the door and latches to line up), feel very sturdy and look nice. The first order I did 2/3 came damaged and missing parts but the replacement gates arrived in good condition.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I give the gate 5 stars but the customer service only 1 star. I ordered 3 of these gates, one came intact, the other two were damaged. The one that I was able to install works great, it's easy for adults to operate and feels very secure. I used a level to install, which is not in the instructions but I feel it should be. The buying process and return process for the gates was long and very difficult. They took weeks to arrive after ordering, and the return process for the damaged gates was just one problem after another.</span>

<span itemprop="description">WE found problems with installing the gate. We had to build up the space between our stair walls as the railing got in the way of the gate for removal. Then when we got the gate on we realized that we should have made the wood sides wider to accommodate the clicks/stops for the gate. So at this point the gate can slide back and forth when we open it. We would have to make our side pieces at about 1" wider on each side to accommodate this. Gates becoming narrower then we thought.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We bought this online because the store didn't have it in stock so we were not able to compare it directly with other gates. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and sturdy it is when installed. One of the best features is that it latches automatically when you swing it shut. No fumbling around while holding your baby. Build quality is great. Installation was easy. Hurt my soul having to screw into our new banister to install it but better that than having my son fall down the stairs. What else, it opens and swings both ways. We have it set to one of the max width settings and it's solid. It's a pricy gate but this is something that we will touch and use multiple times a day for the next 2 to possibly 4 or 6 years if we have more kids. All in all if you want something that not only works very well but doesn't look like it was made in the 60s, I recommend this gate.</span>
