They have been a life saver! When my baby was first diagnosed with reflux we went through several different styles of bottles and nipples...and many many sleepless nights. None seemed to provide both comfort for baby and reduce gas at the same time. These do both! I like that the are different nipple choices as not all babies are created equal. My baby has always preferred the Fast Flow nipples. He took it with no problems, no leaks and no spit up! After several uses, we noticed his gas had significantly reduced! He was able to just drink his formula and continue on with his day without struggling with gas/colic afterwards. And the best part was that he was able to sleep comfortably for longer periods of time. Which, hello, what parent doesn't want that?! The plan was for me to pump at work during my night shift as a nurse and my husband to bottle feed the baby while I&rsquo;m away. I was nervous about nipple confusion and my baby rejecting the bottle or rejecting the breast once I introduced the bottle. My nerves were assuaged when the first night away at 5 months after birth, my baby drank up the whole bottle and had no issues with the nipple. When I came home, she continued to breastfeed with no problem. I have used Avent bottles and nipples with my previous 2 children and my mom even relied on Avent with my little brother 12 years ago. There was a bit of a learning curve with leaking from the side of the nipple when not screwed on correctly but I learned how to do it properly. The anti colic fast flow nipple is perfect for my baby now at 20 months. I have used a fast flow nipple since she was about 8 or 9 months, once she got experienced with bottle feeding. I have noticed a little colic and gassiness even with breastfeeding since she was a few months old. There was no increase in gassiness using the bottles even though I was nervous that she would swallow more air. After a few months of beginning to eat table food and getting used to it I have noticed a decrease in overall gassiness. I believe the anti colic nipples definitely work to reduce air swallowed by baby and reducing potential colic and gas pains. I also love that there are different flow nipples available. Initially I used a slow flow nipple to allow baby to acclimate to using the bottle and increased gradually in flow when I realized she wanted more milk to gulp. The transitions have been very successful. I use Avent and another brand bottle with similar shape nipple and she takes to both brands well. These level 4 nipples are perfect for her now at 11 months old. They allow her to drink quickly but not too quickly and the rest of the bottle system lets milk stay in the nipple for efficiency and anti-colic function. The only thing I can say at all negative is that we sometimes out oatmeal into her milk and that cannot get through the holes well, even at level 4 so I just use old nipples that I have poked bigger holes in for that situation. However, the level 4 nipples have become the ones I use most now because they are sturdier and faster-flowing. Overall, we really like the Avent anti-colic system and nipple levels because of the bottle sizes, ease of use and cleaning, and effectiveness of the anti-colic mechanism. My son has terrible colic and this nipple and bottle have been the most successful we have used to help reduce his symptoms. The bottles are much easier to clean with just one flat insert rather than multiple inner pieces that require special equipment. Additionally, as my son got older, smaller nipples would collapse and frustrate him. This is the only nipple that didn't collapse as he got older and had a stronger pull. I had recently begun transitioning my 10-month-old from stage 1 and 2 nipples into a faster flow, because I noticed she was taking a really long time to finish a bottle, but wouldn't finish it- she would lose interest in drinking about halfway through. She wasn't getting enough of the formula and would be constantly hungry, plus I wasted a lot of formula from her unfinished bottles. I tried out the Fast Flow nipples, and was amazed at how fast she finished the whole bottle! It was great! She was getting enough formula, and there wasn't a ton of leftover formula being thrown away, so we were both happy campers. I was actually a bit concerned at first that going to a faster flow nipple would be too much for her and she would choke or cough, but she had no issues what so ever adapting to the FAST Flow nipples. Another reason that I keep loving and will keep on using Philips products. She didn't get any gas or bubbles from the nipples, but I did notice that if I didn't have the airfree vent in the bottle, she would get a pretty serious case of the hiccups after she finished a bottle. He took right to it. We started with the level 1 nipple then slowly moved up to 2, and 3, as he got older and was drinking more. Recently, I was given the opportunity to review the level 4 nipple through the weeSpring Parent Panel, and I didn't hesitate to have my little one try it out (we were already fans!). He's approaching a year old and he appreciates the faster flow. He's a fast drinker and if something slows him down it frustrates him. He hasn't had any issues with gas or colic using this nipple. This was actually my baby&rsquo;s first experience with a fast flow nipple. She is now 10 months old and was getting frustrated with the slow flow nipples we currently have on our bottles. She isn&rsquo;t typically colicky or gassy anyway, so I did not see a difference in that regard, but since she is an older infant she was able to regulate the flow well without much frustration like usual. That said - I did, in fact, like these. My daughter's now 8 months, and super anti-bottle. We had success with Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles when she was a newborn, but then I slacked off on the bottle feeding, and she refuses to take bottles now. When I got these fast-flow bottle nipples, I didn't think she'd take them either. While she's still a little bit of a diva about getting a bottle now, these have had far more success with her than any other nipple/bottle combo. I still can't get her to drink a full bottle with them, but that's not the nipple's fault, that's just her wanting her milk straight from the source (me). The fact that she's drinking from them at least a bit, though, is a pretty good testament to the style and flow rate. The nipple itself feels sturdy, durable, but also natural. It seems a little thicker than the ones geared towards infants, which seems good because I know my daughter's a chewer and a biter, so these will stand up to that. It's easy to clean, just like most other nipples, and fits nicely into the Avent bottles I already had. All in all, I like these, and will keep them for any future baby/ies I might have, because the quality and durability is pretty impressive. My baby has not been picky about his bottle nipples, but these were fine for him. I do have an issue with the actual hole in the nipple splitting after washing several times. I'm not sure if it is user error or not, but we had to replace the ones at daycare as well, which they wash there.
