She does a lot better with this nipple compared to other brands (less dribbling out of her mouth as she drinks) and seems less fussy overall when using this nipple. I will definitely be getting more of these in the future. Through the past 4 years, I have had 3 children who have been bottle-fed. There are a number of differently shaped nipples on the market and my 9 month old seems to prefer the wide-based ones. With the Avent Anti-colic nipples, I have noticed that my daughter is able to latch on well and I do not hear her struggle to get the milk out. Due to acid reflux issues, we have kept my daughter on the slow flow and they seem to work well. I can't speak to how they do with gas issues in my baby but it was easy to take apart and put together and would be easy to wash. I was concerned about introducing a new brand and bottle to my breastfed baby, however, this was a lifesaver. The 4 pack is great to have extras available, again a plus when traveling. The slow flow number two works the best and eliminates nipple confusion. Both bottle and nipple are easy to wash, with easy disassemble and reassemble process. My 10 month old had major colic issues and this product caused no issues or spit up. We are using the bottle now more for her water, and again the nipple number two is best so that it does not cause leakage. Solid material and easy to grip chubby little hands. The nipple bottle cover is sturdy and stays on. I would recommend in the 4 pack to include an additional nipple bottle cover, but that is not a deal breaker. There are other brands available for breastfed and colic babies. Every baby is different. Great for breastfed babies.</span> <span itemprop="description">My son has always used Avent slow flow nipples but we have used the natural ones in the past and they do not fit in the handy slots in our diaper bag. I recieved the Philips Avent Anti-colic baby bottle slow flow nipples to review as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. First, these bottles are slightly narrower than the Avent natural bottles so they fit in the handy slots in the diaper bag yay! My son also took to the nipples without seeming to notice a difference from the Avent natural nipples which worried me a lot as we have worked hard on breastfeeding and I didn't want him to experience nipple confusion. The nipples are easy to use for paced feeding and I haven't noticed any difference with his latch since changing to these nipples. However, the anti-colic part of the bottle was apparently too confusing for my husband as he asked me why there was a baby toy in the bottle and reassured me that he took it out before using the bottle... The good news is my baby has less colic since changing to these nipples even without the special inserts over a week ago. But the colic comes and goes so I admit I am waiting with baited breath just in case it comes back. Due to their stay in the NICU as well as a few other issues they haven't been able to breastfeed exclusively so finding a bottle that worked for us is really important. They both were diagnosed with GERD as well so we need a bottle to prevent excessive gas intake. We have tried over five different types of bottles so we were really excited to receive this product as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I loved that it had fewer parts than most anti-colic bottles as we wash about 14 bottles a day so the parts can really add up. The assembly is quick and easy and we didn't have any problems with leaking of breast milk which is something we noticed a lot with other bottles we had tried in the past. We loved the variety of nipple options available. Our boys have to still be on the slowest nipple flow possible and not every brand has those available. It did seem to help reduce the amount of crying and gas during bottle feeding, and the design of the bottle allows for sideline feeding which is something we have to do still. My only concern is that they don't seem to like the shape of the nipple as much as others. Right now they will breastfed then bottle fed and this nipple seems to be a bit stiffer and smaller than they would like. They would latch but would sometimes get frustrated with sucking and would start to pull on it and then release it often. My mostly breastfed baby adapted to this bottle well, really well. In addition to him transitioning well, his gas was noticeably less with this bottle than other tried in the past. The reason this was giving 4 starts instead of 5 is because he is 9 months old and sometimes prefers to hold his own bottle which doesn&rsquo;t allow us to use the vent properly considering it has to be held on a certain side to work the way it&rsquo;s intended to. He&rsquo;s fairly active and enjoys taking it in and out which defeated the purpose when he was holding the bottle. My little guy took to these right away with no problem. My son is about 3 months old and is mostly breast fed. He had no problem using these nipples. The nipple has a good design. I find some nipples can be a little long and gag my son sometimes but that did not occur while using these.
