Most of them require installing them in a way that just doesn't work for my cupboards design. However I was actually able to make these work. They are a little stiff when you first use them, but it goes away a little bit with use. It gives you a little peace of mind to know that your kids can't get into drawers that have potentially dangerous items within. I had tried to intall some other ones we found in a discount store myself and I just could not manage to do it. These safety latches are a lot stronger than the other ones as well. My two little toddlers are no longer able to pull drawers open they do not need to be in. The other latches they just tugged and tugged until they managed to open the drawers anyway. I am going to buy a bunch more of these to put on all our drawers. I would recommend this product to anyone who has small children. My toddler had been getting into everything. The old latches that we had when my older children were toddlers were left at our old house yes. These new latches had a template to help with installation and they work well. My two-year-old is quite strong and cannot get into the cabinets that I put these on.
