My daughter loves cats, so she immediately loved this plate. This suction plate is one of the ones where you have to kind of slap/throw it down (on a smooth surface) for it to activate the suction. It has a really good hold, but would suggest only hand washing, as the dishwasher can warp the integrity of the suction bottom. Over time it will lose its hold; as well, my 1 year old is a very determined baby, so she will try and pull it off the table in front of her (and will succeed).</span>
