The sounds are nice, and it would work great as a daily alarm clock for children. I purchased this products with the intention to help let my child know when it was still considered &quot;night time&quot; (As it gets brighter in the summer, they tend to wake up as the sun rises - not ideal) I was disappointed with how the clock is programmed to sleep train a toddler. I was hoping the clock would glow red all night, then as it got closer to wake-up time, it would glow yellow, then when it was time to wake-up, it would turn green. This way, even though the sun could be rising at 5:30, they would know that it's not time to get up yet. The clock only turns yellow within 10 minutes of the time set for your toddler to wake up, and green at the set time. This means, if your child wakes up a half hour before the time you set, the clock won't be glowing, and they will likely (like my child did) just get out of bed because there's no formal cue to stay in bed. It's shaped like a cloud and who doesn't love clouds? It lights up different colors; red for go to bed, yellow for almost time to get up and green for get up. I don't think my toddler can handle that at her age right now but she loves that it lights up nonetheless. It plays white noise,rain, and a lullaby to soothe them to sleep but it also has a cute little song and lights up when the alarm goes off. So adorable and it helps them get into a sleep routine. I use mine a nightlight for my toddler for now but we'll be sleep training shortly.
