Immediately after beginning use, the device would not hold a charge. It'd to always be plugged in as a result. Otherwise, it would beep relentlessly that it had low battery (despite being plugged in all day). Then, around the one year mark, the charger stopped working properly. Eventually, it stopped working altogether and we were left without a monitor. I contacted Summer Infant and they basically told me too bad, so sad, I am screwed out of 400 because it is over 1 year since it was purchased (it was bought for a baby shower months before my son was even born and was not used during that time). They also claim they no longer make monitors and cannot send me a replacement part. So after only 1.5 years, their machine dies completely and they can just wipe their hands of accountability on their end. The product is not built to last, it is not the best one I have seen (and the better ones cost less), and the company has no proper customer retention procedures for when their products ultimately fail. The camera wasn't connecting and the battery get super hot.. The lady informed me that they are getting out of the baby monitors all together so replacement parts are no longer available.. Sound still works but screen is black and nothing done to it. Out of warranty because I bought it prior to use, so they said &lsquo;just buy a new one&rsquo;. Awful customer service from Summer Infant and won&rsquo;t be buying any of their products again. You can go outside and watch your kids in their bed. After 2-3 month, you will go outide 30 minute and need to plug it. After 8-10 month, bring your cord with you because you have a 2 minutes battery. They said you need to unplug the camera the day and plug it the night. The first one we barely used as baby room shared yet the screen randomly stopped working. It was past warranty so we had to suck it up and buy a new one. The second one broke after two months. The on/off button weld gave out and fell off. Reached out to customer service and they accused us of dropping the monitor to cause the issue. It&rsquo;s too bad because other than that the monitor worked great. I love the clarity and zoom and you can swivel to scan the room. The handheld monitor is a piece of garbage before it even turns a year. I'll slowly lose charge faster and faster until you cannot take it off the charger without it dying in 10 minutes. Then it will completely die- unable to connect or turn on. We unfortunately bought 3 cameras for this thing.
