Then the battery life was shot all of a sudden. It could be off the charger for my than an hour before it was dead. I received a replacement battery to solve this issue and now here I am a few months later and it&rsquo;s happening again now it&rsquo;s not under warranty. I enjoy a monitor that I can take around the house with me and not have to have it plugged into the wall. This is a HUGE safety concern on a product that is invented to help keep our babies safe. Battery life could be better on the handheld monitor. We were able to easily replace the battery (from Amazon) in our old single camera monitor we&rsquo;ve had for ~2 years. The first one just stopped working one day, so else had no choice to replace it. The video quality on the HD is by far the best I&rsquo;ve seen (we tested 3/4 other units after the last one before replacing it with this) if it&rsquo;s working it&rsquo;s a great product, but they don&rsquo;t last long, we ended up with 2 - single camera units (2 cameras and 2 handhelds, since they didn&rsquo;t have the extra camera for sale on its own at the time) 1sr hand held, just died, wouldn&rsquo;t hold a charge and had a speaker issue. Which was fine since we had the 2nd handheld. And now that has died, won&rsquo;t hold a charge for more than 10min before needing to be plugged in. I called to order a new handheld or battery, I&rsquo;m in Canada. So I can&rsquo;t order online, you have to call, and then it wasn&rsquo;t in stock in Canada, so I have to wait over a month they guessed. Not sure why they can&rsquo;t just ship it from the US, it&rsquo;s called FedEx? Or why the website can&rsquo;t let you select Canada as a location, it&rsquo;s almost 2022, get it figured out. I&rsquo;d understand in 2002 maybe. Overall the video quality is amazing but this product will die in 12-18 months which is unfortunate. We can&rsquo;t talk back and forth to our daughter because on our end, we can&rsquo;t comprehend what she says. We hear that she is talking but we can&rsquo;t decode at all. The company is sending a new one back. Since we called them for that issue, somehow the cameras got deleted accidentally by us I would assume and we can&rsquo;t add them back for some reason. The range logo has a red X on it and we can&rsquo;t make it work. At least, we are getting a new one and their customer service was great. I would have thought and hoped that at this price, it would have been A1. My former monitor, also a Summer, was a cheaper version and worked much better than this one. One camera is on one baby and the other camera is on another baby (in my case toddlers) and ya never know if one gets up because they&rsquo;re quiet and you can&rsquo;t use the boundary box that warns you of movement if you have the auto scan on. The picture quality is amazing. It is very easy to set up and use. We have two cameras that we can toggle between ( no split screen though). It has nice features that are a bonus including night vision, music, and white noise, and you can talk through the monitor. I love that it has a temperature as well. I normally keep it cooler at night and to know my little one has a cozy room at night is a bonus for me! Another cool feature is you can set a boundary box to alert you if your little one has gone outside that box. The battery only last for about 7 hours and then starts beeping. Noise is not fun if it goes off in the middle of the night. =) Overall I would recommend this monitor! I find it far superior to my previous monitor options. I previously used a security camera as my video monitor and had so many problems! It lost connection and sound constantly turned off so I purchased a cheap sound monitor as a back up but I couldn't see my child and it made me uneasy. Highlights: -I can see my child with a crystal clear picture. Display also includes temperature of the room, time, connection strength and battery level -It comes with two cameras I can switch between easily so I can see whichever room I need to attend -It had a VOX mode which turns off the picture to conserve battery but you still hear sound. If your child moves/makes a sound the picture turns back on so you can see what is happening -There is a function you can turn on to set a space about the size of a rectangle to be alerted if the child leaves that space which works great for our son who is now in a toddler bed -I can speak to my child to reassure him I'm on my way or play one of five song options to appease him until I can get there or to get him to sleep -The battery can last an entire night without needing to be plugged in until morning and then charges in a very short amount of time so it's ready for nap time In summation, the camera not only meets my necessary requirements for a baby monitor but exceeds them! It has so many features that I have come to expect and appreciate in the Summer Infant brand! What I really, really like -6 time zoom, 360 degree rotation -5 different sounds; 2 melodies, white noise, and 2 others (nature, maybe?) -Good volume, able to adjust on both the camera and the monitor -Voice activated; push to talk button on monitor (talk to baby, or whoever is on the other side) -Picture quality is A+, truly HD, so clear! Even in night vision -Adjustable brightness level -Option to use 1 or both cameras; you can disconnect from the control monitor, or use the power button on either camera -Perfect screen size; shows time, options enabled, temperature in the room, which cameras are active, signal strength bars, battery remaining What I didn't like too much -Camera is a little top heavy; the rotating head compared to the based can make it unstable and fall off whichever surface you place it on, think of a bobble head, so you're better off hooking it up to the wall which it seems like it was intended since there's an opening for a nail/thumbtack -Don't rely on the sounds to soothe your baby; besides the 2 melodies, the other sounds (which I guess are supposed to be white noise and nature) just sound muffled and noisy.
