We don&rsquo;t even close it half the time because opening and closing it is nothing but a pain. The gate doesn&rsquo;t slide smoothly. The banister attachment doesn&rsquo;t not secure well and therefore moves. If the straps loosen or move the slightest bit (which they do everytime you touch the gate, no matter how tight the straps are) it is very difficult to open or close the gate. Would not recommend this gate. Within a month, one of the zap strap locking mechanisms that holds the gate in place with the bannister pole stopped working/ locking. This malfunction makes the gate useless. Contacted company who advised they were unable to assist because I was past the 90 day mark from purchase?!?. Don't waste your money on this garbage gate.
