<span itemprop="description">I purchased this gate because I thought it was a good alternative to a pressure mount or a drill in gate. I have used it at the top of the stairs while supervising my child because it is not the most sturdy but it does the trick. Looks nice and no damage to banister.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is a terrible "safety" product, it fell apart after a few months of use. The company only guarantees their product for only 90 days. If I am relying on a product for the safety of my child, I expect it to last longer than 3 months.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Easy to install. Worked in our home with banister to wall installation however we did have to remove a piece of decorative baseboard in order for the gate to install flush against the wall for safety. Nice looking gate!</span>

<span itemprop="description">We bought this gate for our 9 month old daughter. After a month and a half, the posts started to break. It seems to be a quality issue as nobody including our daughter pulled on the posts. That being said, even if she did it should with stand the strength of a 9 month old. I dont have the receipt and Toys R Us could not do anything for me. I guess Im out $100. Wont buy this brand any more.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I like the concept of a gate that doesn't drill into the banister, huge pro! My issues are that it doesn't account for baseboards on the wall side - as this impedes it from sitting flush with the wall. We placed ours above the baseboard but it made it incredibly tricky to level and accurately place the side along the banister. Now there is an obvious gap at the base, which would be fine if the supporting "leg" for the gate was long enough to reach the floor - it isn't so the gate now gets be left open at all or it'll put too much pressure on the hinges.
As for shutting the gate - no issues! Opening the gate however is a nightmare - I need two hands to do it and when coming up from the bottom of the stairs with a newborn this is a huge problem. I actually can't open the gate with the baby in my arms - an easier latch could still be childproof - this system sucks and honestly makes me want to remove the gate altogether :(</span>

<span itemprop="description">It’s a great gate for the bottom of the stairs. My only complaint is it sometimes get stuck and hard to open, but I’d still buy it for the ability to not create holes in my banister and the option of easily removing the gate if I needed to.</span>
