The mat has so many different attachments and toys to play with. Of course too little to kick and play on his own but we &quot;helped&quot; him with all the little activities, his eyes lit up and it held his attention for quite a while. After daily use now at 3months old little guy kicks on his own, swats at the stuffies on the giraffe, and has to have the soccer ball with him in his swing lol. Not only has the play gym encouraged him to kick and swat but also helped him gain his head control with fun tummy time. And the funniest thing, he now kicks in his swing and seats at the cloud mobile hanging above it if we forget to turn the music on...he absolutely makes the connection :) I really like that there are separate pieces that can be used alone and that the panel can grow with him and be carried. The instructions were easy to follow and assembly was a breeze. My 3-month-old has a blast with this play gym. Her hand knocks the giraffe items and her feet can kick the ball and 2 other hanging toys. She laughs and giggles every time she lays on this. I like that it can be used several different ways and lasts longer than some other play gyms. The only thing I don't like about it is when my baby wiggles around, her arms and legs can hit the plastic. I'm worried it might not feel good if she does that a lot. She's been starting to kick her legs sideways, which is how she's now able to kick the sides. The tunes are catchy and get my baby's attention. She does get distracted easily, but as soon as the music stops she gets upset. The gym is lightweight, but weird to store when not in use. It's not a problem for me, but might be for others. The loose toys should have more secure storage in my opinion.
