With all that is going on today in terms of health it is always great to keep thermometers on hand. I love the fact that this thermometer is small and lightweight. It comes with a set of batteries to get you started. The thermometer is easy to set up and program. It has a set mode, memo mode and a mode mode. You can set it to beep after having your temp read. It reads in about 3 seconds and I find that it is just as accurate as a manual thermometer. This product is small enough that it can fit in a small purse, a backpack or even a small drawer in your home. This does not have a symbol telling you to move the thermometer closer if you are too far away, but the manual does have a diagram of where to use this thermometer, in the middle of the forehead, between the eyes and directly above the eyebrows.
